Nothing like a storm in the Keys! We used to drive down to the bridge grade to watch them roll in.

K390 in full force today. Endela and this little guy, that I have found far more fun and useful than I would have ever imagined.

Yea, we get some nasty ones and they blow right through. We had gusts from 35-50mph Friday and a waterspout rolled right over my dock, did some damage but it only lasted about 3-4 minutes. Crazy.

Normally, I have Crucarta Shaman, Cruwear Manix, or Rex 45 Military, but I decided to switch it up today:
CEE42574-DA89-40D5-89CE-BA86F4085956.jpeg

I have zero love for H-1, and both the Swick and DF2 are tiny, but I need to get away from my defaults. My other knives need attention too.
Think you'll grab a Swick salt when they come out?
I was planning to get a few and have had the Swick 5 listed in the “want” section of my signature for a couple of years it feels like.

The price is a bit steep, so I won’t get more than one at first, since it’s so similar to my original Swick. A direct comparison will help me decide if I want the small hole version (same as original) as well or more than one of the big hole version.

In the mean time, I’m trying to appreciate serrations, but I’m not having much luck.
Have: old S30V Native, HAP40 Endura, ZDP DF2, S110V Manix LW, Cru-wear Para 3, SE H1 DF2, S90V Native 5, K390 Urban, SE Pac Salt, P.I.T.S., XHP Manix LW, SB Caly 3, B70P, PMA11, K03, Kapara, REX 45 Military, 154CM Manix LW, Swick, AEB-L Urban, KC Cruwear Manix, M390 PM2, Mantra 2, CruCarta Shaman, M390 Manix, K390 Police 4, S90V Manix LW, Rex 45 Manix LW, 20CV Manix, Rex 45 Lil’Native, Shaman, C208GP, Cruwear Manix, Cruwear Manix, M4 Chief, Z-max!!!

Want: SPY27, K490, Swick 5

I dyed it from yellow to gray/olive green using navy blue RIT dye. It took about 20 minutes, pretty easy! I kinda wish I'd left a strip of yellow in case I drop it in the water, but it should wear away a little over time and use.

I am almost 100% certain he must have dyed it...

I just got this one last week so I'm giving it a bit more use this week as well. But, I'm pretty sure I do prefer my Wharnie. The blade shape works very well for my warehouse duties. Not that this drop point style isn't capable, it's been great and I'm actually about to go and get into all our UPS/Fedex deliveries right after I post this.

I unexpectedly do prefer the leather sheath that came with this one over the Kydex sheath that came with the Wharnie. This sheath, though the knife doesn't "click" into place like the Wharnie does with the Kydex, it's still very secure in the sheath. This sheath rides a lot tighter/closer with the my belt running through it, vs the G-Clip on the Kydex. No movement or wiggling in my belt, helps conceal the knife even better as well.

It's a pretty cool and unique knife that's for sure. One that you are very careful with while handling and opening/closing. Though the very tip of mine broke off...it's still not something I'd want to catch and snag a finger!
