How’s yours holding up? Haven’t done much with mine yet but its coming.
So far so good. I used it all week the first week I got it, and a couple other random days like yesterday. No issues with the coating, it's cleaned up nicely. Of course CruWear is a breeze for a touch up after use too.
Very cool, thanks.

Actually started to carry the BD1N Manix again... but after a few days I just missed the REX 45 and now switched back to it.
I like the burnt orange color, but of course even more so the steel: Its performance, and how it it "reacts" to the elements, one can see it "aging" and just showing use (Patina, specs..). A bit like it would be a "living" material, if that makes any sense

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Have you oiled your blade yet, or just letting it go naturally and see how it does?

Actually I have never oiled the whole blade itself, just the the small part of the very pivot area that is hidden behind the scales and that I can´t really access due to the pinned construction - two times in a month or so.

Otherwise, yes, I just let it go without ever oiling the blade and just wiping it off after cutting food like I´d do with any knife.

The Manix has developed a slight patina and definitely a lot of tiny specs, both red and black.. but this is very hard to capture on photo (angle and light matter a lot here) - I still tried to take one for you (see below), and this pic actually exaggerates a lot what can be normally seen.
One thing is very obvious on my specific knives: REX 45 so far develops less patina, but a lot more specs than the exposed part on my HAP 40 blades (those have a heavy grey/blue patina, but no specs at all, despite being used and (not...) cared for just like the REX 45)

Man, another Austrian on this forum, and even a longstanding member!! :) - Did not get to know you till now, Oliver!

/ Where is this castle ruin? Looks like more in the flatter, eastern part of our country, right?
Perhaps you have seen the "castle-ruin-knife-pics" I too posted quite recently: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60127&start=23480#p1462918

And nice knife of course. One day I will have to get one of these too...

Seems like a good day to carry this. It's been raining/sleeting since this morning.

Yep! Took out my Aqua Salt too and tried them both out whittling some wood. They both carve well despite running 200-300 grit edges on them.
