Translucent blue twice... ;)

I saw this picture and immediately in my mind I heard Julie Andrews singing the Sound of Music. :)

Funny thing is: Here in Austria, where I think most of the movie was shot, it is really not popular at all. Most people don´t know anyhing about it (I happen to do, since I was in Milwaukee for several weeks for a students exchange when I was 16, and my hosts where huge sound-of-music-fans. They could not believe that I am from Salzburg, know all the film locations but not the movie itself... :p )

I could start a knife-pic-series with all the location of "Sound of music" in the background... would actually be pretty easy to do, most are in or very close the city of Salzburg, where I live. ;)

I want to see you singing and running through the tall grass and flowers with your outstretched arms holding knives. Best not to let anyone see that, they might haul you off to the shrink.

Not much wharnie-experience, but the Delica for me still is clearly the best Spyderco in its size category, and ffg SE a great choice anyway... maybe I'll get one too..

Wharncliffe Delica is really, really great EDC knife/ box cutter/ letter opener :) :D ;)
That straight edge, down pointing tip and thin slicey blade are very usefull. I can't belive how much difference the little change of blade shape, makes in real life. It begs to be used ;)
Personally, I prefer the linerless, slightly thicker and lighter Salt 2 handles, but with FFG blade from Delica. My EDC for the last 16 months. Can't stop recomending it. Thanks to Jazz -the mastermind and Sal- who listen to his customers.

I would love to see that thread - that movie was a favorite of mine as a kid.

Purrdy. The wave gives it a very nice angle play.
Hahah I did my best to not buy this knife when it first came out, but when it was still in stock a week later, I caved and picked one up.. I'm glad that I did! I find the wave feature to be really useful for quick deployment as a work knife and I love the really stout blade! And I do also think it's purrdy! :)

Ok, Julia, just for you I started todays trail run with less trail, but more culture... ;)

It is really just a 15 minute run from where I live to the stunning, old park where this original sound.of-music-pavillon is set up since the 90ies (for explanation see the pic I took of parts of the information board next to the pavillon (pic 2))

Travel restrictions mean: Lonesome place there right now... no one left who´d be interested in the Pavillon, when US and Asian tourists can´t come to Europe... ;)

With me was the best, small, slimmest but still comparably long-edged IWB running knife one can find imho: The Chap FRN.

Summer mushrooming has begun in MO! The black trumpets (black chanterelles) are up, yellow and smooth chanterelles will follow soon.

Old pic, but the HAP 40 Endura is in my pocket today indeed.

Just the perfect all around, do it all folder for me (ok, ALMOST perfect, ffg SE would be even better. But not sure if HAP 40 is the right steel for that).

As much as I do love to carry and use my new Manix LW, there are just tasks where a longer cutting edge comes in handy. That is what makes the Endura a bit more versatile (still: It won´t be long before I´ll carry the Manix again... )
