What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
New Mantra arrived yesterday. I like it!! For me it's kind of like Delica meets Sage 2. I'm a big fan of both so this one should see considerable pocket time. The M4 steel is very sharp, the jimping on the lockbar insert is a nice touch, and the long cutting edge is great. I'm starting to prefer the wire clips so that's a big plus for me. As far as flippers go, it takes a little different technique to deploy compared to other brands due to the relatively light detent. Certainly not a show stopper for me. I've handled other Spyderco flippers before so I expected that going in. The blade does fly out when deploying with middle finger flick so I don't think I'd change a thing.
All-in-all it's a fabulous knife and I'm very happy with this one.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

Thanks SpeedHoles! I don't really carry the Roc much, but that day I really wanted to chop something with it.SpeedHoles wrote:^ really dig that shot!
Somehow visually emphasizes the cleaver aspect of that Roc.

So, how do you like your "bargain bin" Military? It will be a few more weeks before mine lands here, sigh...

I remember my first Military felt extremely big, but over time it "shrank". Nowadays previously large knives, like the PM2, just feels a bit inadequate in comparison.
M4 today...
