While these days on shorter mountain hikes (and when I don't plan to use the knife extensively) I most times bring the superlight, small, but still extremely capable ffg Salt 2 SE, the trusty H1 SE Pac Salt 1 is still my first choice as a full sized, "serious" "mountain folder". Stays sharp enough (in SE) forever and the blade feels really indestructable. Ready even for some prying in an emergency situation.

Image
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

You are truly a man of knowledge!!! Excellent tastes!

I need to get another one of those...

I still catch my dad using it all the time. It's the favorite knife of the man who said he would never need to carry a pocket knife.

I'm so glad you mentioned that...I've had a knife from overseas stuck since July 2! I was getting worried that customs wasn't going to clear it, but it sounds likd there's just a big backup.
