Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
You said it! I'm glad I chose this instead of the Caribbean. With full liners and of course the spring mechanism, it's thicker and heavier than your typical Spyderco of this size, but without being cumbersome, and I like it - it makes it more hand filling, more comfortable, and it gives more support to my thumb when in use.
It's very snappy and quick too without wanting to fly out of your hand like some autos. The button is large but unobtrusive. The safety is a great feature too, although I have found it not to be necessary in everyday carry. It's still nice to know that it's there and I can positively lock the blade closed. Seriously, those of you who have trouble with knives opening up in your pocket should consider one of these. With the safety on (which by the way has a nice strong detent) this knife cannot possibly open up by accident.
I also love that it has an open back construction for ease of cleaning. Really, there isn't anything on this knife that I wish was different. It's pretty much perfect in every respect.
The one thing I have had a minor issue with, was with the pivot screw loosening up a tad. However after I took it out, cleaned it up, and applied some blue locktite, I haven't had any more problems.
This knife really deserves more attention.

Glad I could help in your decision to get one. It definitely needs more attention and appreciation.

I have been loving this one. It has been sharing time with Rex 45 Para3 ever since landing. I find the 52100 takes and holds a nice edge. It has not been babied since day one and has formed its patina through daily use. Id love to see spyderco use it more on other knives or sprints/exclusives! I stumbled upon this pm2 through another forum and had to have it. It has yet to disappoint. More tool steels please. Awesome haha, and yeah I totally agree, it would be nice to see it in more models! I guess it is kinda a niche steel, and I can't fault any maker in wanting to go with steels that have a more firm market base, and thankfully Spyderco has the inclination and wherewithal to innovate when it comes to niche steels, but I too hope we haven't seen the last of them!cwoods wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 11:14 am20190919_111854.jpgI have been loving this one. Forgot how much sharper I've got this Pacific Salt compared to the satin one I've been carrying. This has been with me during my trip:
