Last time the guy who tried, I think chickened out half way through and decided it couldn't be done so he polished the blade to remove the grind marks, but the damage was done. The spine thickness was real uneven and the hollow grind was still basically there, it was just smoothed and polished out. I do t fault the guy too much, I don't think regrinds are something he does many of and he admits that he's only a knife maker as a hobby so I didn't make a stink about it. I was lucky enough to trade it off and Travis eventually fixed the regrind and made it proper. I would have him do this one but I worry about shipping knives overseas.
How you carry yourself is just as important as what you carry.

Thanks guys. I know G-10 would have produced a more vibrant red, but I have always wanted to try Micarta. He polished it well and if I am not pleased with the smooth texture, I can always blast it to get a rougher texture back. This started life as a digicam S30V (it was the only one I felt comfortable parting with for an extended period) and when it arrived, I tried a blade swap with the BG-42. The liner faces were not compatible and the digicam linerlock only engaged 10% onto the BG-42 blade. This made me uncomfortable so I swapped all of the hardware over from the BG-42 model. Seems like a shame to not use the CF, but I can live without it for a while.

A crazy trio indeed

Sorry I didn't get in on this great thread earlier in the game. I do however have a very unusual line of Spyders that I'm carrying today.

First of all today I'm packing my C-111 user Captain model

Second I have in my front/chest pocket of my Carhartt bib overalls my trusted H-1 full SE Spyderhawk ( yellow handle of course).

Third I have as my main EDC user my combo edged, C-46 Lum Tanto folder>> i.e. black blade, ATS-55, G-10 handle.

This is truly most probably the strangest but one of the most intriguing EDC line ups I've worked with in quite some time. What posessed me to pick these 3 Spyder Titans is probably something for a psychologist to figure out. But when I went through my footlocker today I wanted to put together a trio of blades I hadn't EDCed in a while and I bet I'm the only one on the entire North American shelf that is carrying these particular 3 Spyders today.

Other than being a premium skinner I still haven't learned all the uses for my C-111 Captain except that I very, very much want that bad boy in full SE someday. The Lum Tanto folder is probably the only Tanto type blade I've ever really loved in all my knife carrying days.

And the H-1, full SE Spyderhawk speaks for itself. Great thread>> but I hope it doesn't catch up with my big Hawkbill thread anytime soon.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

Chaparral 1 is in my pocket right now. I rarely have need for something bigger than 3", and blades like the Chaparral are a comfortable carry.

Wait till your off duty! Too much distraction. I hope you're not on the DMZ! :D

On the S30V / Digicam donor Military that I sent off for customizing. I knew I would be without it for months so I didn't want to go without my BG-42. The CF is never going away! :D
