Carrying the LW today. The old Mini Manix was my first USA Spyderco, I think. Cool knife but I quit carrying it in favor of lighter knives after a while, although it did see some farm work back in the day. I have to say I like the Manix 2s better than the original.

Rex 45 has been pretty stainless for me in my uses. After cutting up a ton of fruit, veggies, and cooked chicken it’s starting to take on a really nice matte blue/gray color

Same here! Took quite some time till my REX 45 Manix began to show any discoloration - like you I use(d) it for cutting all kinds of food (and in many other "humid" tasks, or iwb carry when running and so on). "Pretty stainless" indeed.

Looking for yet undiscovered caves in some remote, hidden valleys - found only some very short ones though - none longer than just 25 meters / about 80 feet into the mountain (there actually are some pretty big ones in that mountain though - up to a length of 23 km / about 14 miles!!).
In pic 1 an entrance into a cave I found can be seen in the background.

HAP 40 Endura with me today -just will have to carry and use it more again, it is such a great variant of a great model and a joy to use! :smlling-eyes

Been a few weeks of daily carry of the Spydiechef. Still enjoying the knife quite a bit. A wharnecliffe knife is a good pairing knife with it

Titanium overload

Image

Got some extra days off last week, so I scrambled and took the kids on very impulsive, but rather high comfort backpacking trip over the weekend.

The weather was absolutely terrible, so the added weight of the stove really paid off this time.

Well, as I (and others, which I always enjoy!) sometimes do in this particular thread a bit more background info:
I really appreciate the added info and backstories! Keep’em coming ;)

Where can I get a stove like that?
Thinking of doing a mirror polish on my Spydiechef so it cleans up easier and I can use it to signal aircraft for a rescue.

Buying from Norway will surely set you back a couple of Spydercos. I do believe Nortent may have a couple of authorized retailers in USA/Canada, not really sure. Even that option would probably be fairly expensive, but hey… it’s titanium :winking-tongue

...

Carry the exact same model today (see some posts above yours) ... and as said: Great that you do use your REX 45 Manix for food prep too... both knife and steel work great for that, and the latter deserves a nice patina (which developes very slowly anyway) :smlling-eyes
