Finally got this one fixed and decided to take it for a stroll. The clip is definitely a letdown. Aside from that, it is a great knife. Really wonderful blade shape, that is a lot thinner upfront, than I imagined it would be.

My only other gripe would be, that some of the edges are a bit sharp on the handle. But, that can be fixed easily enough.

With a little modification to the existing clip or a custom, it will be a very nice tool.

The ATR2 still tempts me. I know a few retailers with some left. I liked the original quite a bit, but wasn't wild about the clip or slick scales. The 2 fixed those things for me, but I'm still a little leary of compression locks. Maybe its time to give them another chance.

That we do my friend, that we do indeed :)

we are very nearly the same age, and have other common tastes, interests, and/or hobbies, i.e. the alpine stuff, running, etc...

To be honest, the holes in the scales and shape of the grip, make it pretty solid in the hand.

I couldn't describe it as slick.

I'm definitely a proponent of the comp lock! You know what I'll say. :p

Whew! Bet that livens you up! :D
This is the first I've tried growing them. Last year I grew just ghost peppers, but this year I've got jalapeño, cayenne, habanero, and ghost peppers, in addition to the Carolina Reapers. For hot sauce. :)

This is definitely not a thing in Texas...must be a cold weather state thing. Trespassing in Texas is a big no-no.
Can confirm its a thing in Utah at least. Once upon a time I got a couple hours of sleep in a mountain patrol shack where skiing is popular.

Texas is pretty big on no trespassing though. As a kid I remember being told not to go into my one neighbors yard. The guy sat on his porch in a rocking chair with a shotgun on his lap watching for people that ignored the no trespassing signs.

.....

Just to do my country right: Trespassing as such is really not an issue at all in Austria, except perhaps very rarely when hunters don´t want people to cross certain areas at certain times a year. So one can really hike/walk/run everywhere in the country/woods/mountains.
It is just that a majority of shacks/cabins/huts one might come by will be locked.
Austria, especially higher up in the mountains, IS a "cold weather country" for a good part of the year, but many remote places are "just" "remote" for middle European standards. So not like a seven days hike into total wilderness, but certainly often about two or three days into the mountains.

And no one ever really tries to "scare people off" property here... I remember when I was in Alaska with one of my brothers and a buddy in the nineties, we rode a canoe down some river - no human signs at all for days, but then we came by that lonesome cabin, landed at the riverbank there and suddenly stared into the barrel of a shotgun - held by a guy who just grunted "private property" :p - quite shocking for Europeans, who aren´t used to guns in the first place and also not to the strong sense of defending ones property (don´t get my wrong, I am not implying this would be a bad thing necessarily!) :D
(to be fair: That guy turned out to be real nice after he realized that we where just greenhorns from Europe... ;) )

/ A rare carry for me, but today I´ll take my oldest Spydie with me on a morning run - seen here in front of a cabin-door... which actually is locked... ;)

A K390 Endela today

Beautiful grooveless handle...
...and ricasso and handle in one line (without forefinger guard).
It's perfect !
Thanks a lot!
The original Endela is already a very good EDC, not too large and not too small. The guy who made the customisation works very well.

Today my new RockJumper, another perfect EDC :
