Lovely photos. Funny seeing spanish moss that far north! I associate it with Texas and Louisiana. Which hammock do you use? I've been using an Eno sub 6, but its about time I replace it. Looking for something larger this time.

Thanks!

Yes, I agree about seeing it (Spanish Moss) this far north. I, like you, associate it with far more southern areas. It is different and cool, seeing it this far north though, and I enjoy walking through it. In the last photo, that's up on a bluff, say about 80 or so feet up off the ocean/bay. It catches the breezes and blows around nicely.

The hammock is one of the first ones I made, now over a decade ago. It's got some miles on it for sure, but is still going.

I love it. It reminds me of fall, which is my favorite part of the year. Funny how toning down the brightness of the scales vs say, the cutlery shoppe releases, makes them look so much better to me.

That was one of the reasons I waited until the rex Chief came out to buy into the model. Of course I also wanted to try Rex 45 :)

Wow, so I've been carrying it nonstop since I got it. What a surprise, first time trying a dragonfly, and have all sorts of spydies most far exceeding this price point, or what one would call less high end build quality and materials. But it keeps knocking everything else out, it's crazy good.
that is a crazy patina! did you force it, or is it from use?
Haha, well it's been forming over quite some time, first spots here and there, and with me working outdoors it comes across all sorts of stuff but I'm pretty sure the deeper and seemingly random patina comes from slicing bloody pickles of all things haha. My mother had her birthday recently and she's getting on in years AND it seems there is some sort of pandemic going on and expectations were that no one would be visiting.. so I took 2 days off work, drove my kid sisters out and made snacks for us from regular grocery store. Thing is, her cutlery couldn't slice a cake and I'm not allowed to sharpen them because she is used to her knives being blunt as bricks, she would cut herself every time when she threw the knives alongside the rest in the sink. I've given up on persuading her how a sharp knife is a safe knife, probably for the best if you see that crap trying, tearing some meat apart with so much weight behind it haha!

Luckily, and all I had on me was the dragonfly. I didn't rinse it directly afterwards, stayed the night and when I went to drive home the following evening I noticed it had gotten considerably darker. Must have been the juice, wasn't sure whether I liked it or not but it grew on me very quickly! Now I'm debating an endura or endela in K390 as its insane stuff performance wise but I also really appreciate how they patina!

So, did I force it or not..? Guess you could make an argument for either side. I do have some older pics showcasing a more gradual formed patina. But I think in this circumstance and for its intended purpose that day it may carry its new stripes with pride :D
