Winter has come back... tons of snow, went on a little mountain hike and had to break a trail with snow up to the hips...

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Mantra 2. My most carried knife.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Skeeg is correct! Mantra 2.
I'm generally not a huge "flipper guy," but I picked this one up at a great price when it was DC'd a couple years back (2019 maybe?) and I ended up really liking it quite a bit. It rides exceptionally well in the pocket.. very narrow and discreet, but with a relatively large sharpened blade length (3.22in/82mm) in an overall package that is more compact than the average Spyderco knife due to the lack of a large Spydie-hole and blade hump. I appreciate that sometimes. It wouldn't be my first choice for any heavy duty tasks, but as far as an edc/around the office/"gent's"-type knife.. It's really good.

Manix 2 Burl g10 in s90v.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
It's a lot stouter than one might initially think. 3mm stock in a blade that isn't very tall. The M4 can be taken down to less thank15 dps to make it slicier with adequate structural integrity.DSH007 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 12:22 pmSkeeg is correct! Mantra 2.

Siren in my pocket and zcut on my station.
First time using a spydie kitchen knife on the job! Still have my vic chef knife of course, but I'll be using the zcut where I can.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Looking forward to your review. Been wondering about anti-corrosive properties of BD1N as well as its edge performance. I see you have SE, but do you also have a PE version?
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Not yet, just a pair of SE. I'll try to remember to order a PE next time I buy a knife.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Thanks Vivi. Since you have the 1.3mm serrated blade, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the issue of blade drift when using serrated blades and/or how thickness of blade stock and thinness of serrated grind correlates.
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
The Z cuts, particularly the SE version is a great knife for the price and has been talked about a few times over the past few months. I can't think of the threads off the top of my head, but doing a little search you can probably find them.skeeg11 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 4:23 pmThanks Vivi. The Chief does look tempting...TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 16, 2021 7:30 pmUggghhh...all these glowing posts on the Chief, in my favorite steel...is tempting me to spend $170 I didn't plan on spending!! I miss my Military as my one folder that stands out against the rest because of it's size, seems like this could be a great replacement for it.
So what happened to your Military?
Did you lose it?
