I'm continuously battling tape gunk. I keep a can of Goo Gone on my workbench and use it often

Seems like it really tends to stick to satin blades vs DLC blades for some reason. We have a lot of Lysol Wipes handy here at work, I usually wipe the gunk off with those at the end of the day. Always a little sketchy at the edge!

Denatured alcohol works like a champ for tape goo and sharpie marker. Acetone works too, but I hate to use that stuff inside.

I'm with Sharp Guy on the Goo Gone. I use alcohol to clean many many many things, but I do think Goo Gone works faster/better on tape gunk. I follow the Goo Gone with alcohol though to clean everything up real good. The higher percentage alcohol is better. I order 99.9% from Amazon. The 91% from the store is better than the 70% though if you don't want to order the 99.9% online. I keep a bottle of 99.9% alcohol and a bottle of Goo Gone next to my sink because I use them both so often.

Yeah, can't really go through the process of sending it to Spyderco. My country is explosive in terms of import taxes, even on used goods or stuff you used to own. Hence why steel insert are a must to me, I had too many bad surprises with framelocks.przemekspce wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 12:52 pmDon't resist
This is my second Spydiechef. In the first, framelock worked perfectly. I had to send this one to a friend at the SPA. Only then is it okay, before that the frame was sticking. I love this knife anyway :)Chapp wrote:I'm holding out for a steel insert CQI but you're tempting me very hard.
Fortunately, the swayback might be an indication of things to come for the future.

Not actually in my pocket, but with me in hospital: my Calypso Jr. SuperBlue, and my Roadie.

I'm about to go do some yardwork, might need something a little bigger. Think I am going to pair the H1 SE Pac Salt with my LT Wright Ranch Hand! I'll carry the Dfly Salt for you as well though! Can never have too many knives!

Once I shook the rust off it was a fun day of skateboarding. Nailed a few double flips and nollie bigspins :D

Last thing I used my ‘88 Caballero skateboard for was moving furniture :o Then I sold it at a garage sale for dirt cheap. I got a hard eye roll from the kid I sold it to because I wouldn’t let him ride in on my steep driveway! I was thinking about a claim against my homeowners insurance... adulting sucks.

Haha. Love those 80's boards! I've still got my Toy Machine board with Grind King trucks somewhere. I've also got a Zero deck signed by Jamie Thomas that I obviously never used. I believe those are in storage at my parents house, makes me want to go dig those out!

Nice turn on this thread today. And turns out I had nothing but keys in my pocket all day. I live in a safe country and spent most of the day around the kids school. Nothing to fear, nothing to cut. All play time.

Independent trucks with the black bushings was a nice upgrade from the orange bushings. I remember the axle always slipped on the version with the orange!

I was skating a toy machine today. An old eye deck with krux trucks. I built a new board during lockdown last year but still like the old broken in one better.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:18 pmHaha. Love those 80's boards!
