That fade looks awesome! I would love to see a Zome edition knife like that.
Thanks! I like how it came out for my first try at a fade. I already have ideas for my next, like dying each end and keeping the clip contact area the stock color.

Yeah, I didn't know either until a few months ago I stumbled upon the model, and finding one was pretty challenging but I'm glad I kept at it, for such a small knife the ergos are amazing for my big paws. :)

^ Nice Kris!

This is what I have on me today (plus a HAP40 Manbug). This is probably my favorite Para 3. There's something about those bright blue scales that I really like. M390 steel doesn't hurt either. I touched it up last night. It's sharp! :)

I have not tried the throwing techniques yet but I did watch the videos you linked. Might be able to try it today. Not 100% sure which knife I'd use as I have no dedicated throwers. Maybe a Cold Steel Spike.

You could throw and make stick in the target many things using "no" spin as soon as you get the trick: Even large carpenter nails, scissors, screwdrivers, whatever.
But just as in "spin" throwing, an a bit heavier knife is the best choice, at least for longer distances (but I am sure you know that anyway) - so the Spike (had to google it) seems to be a bit light perhaps

One thing that helps in "no" spin knife throwing:
- To really visualize why exactly knives get thrown in the way they do with this technique, especially the "brushing the spine" with the index finger while releasing the knife.

Most will see why anyway, but still:

- When throwing a knife the way most people do - with "spin" and full rotations - one gives the knife both a forward force, but also a rotational force: So if thrown with the handle in the hand, after the release at first the handle will go up, the tip will go down and the knife starts to fully rotate in the air
- With "no" spin, one of course keeps the forward force but actually counters the initation of the rotational force by giving the handle a push downwards when releasing the knife (by "brushing the spine of the handle" with the index finger or whatever). So the knife won´t start to rotate in the first place, the tip will always point forward during the flight, and so the knife will pretty much always stick in the target (since it can´t arrive "handle first" like it is with spinning throws)

Michal Janich will know like 10000 times more about this than I do.. ;)

You were right in that other post: REALLY like it!! :)

And that kind of handle coloring has a practical aspect too: The nice green can be seen when the knife is used, but in pocket it is pretty unobtrusive due to the dark handle end :)

But, Vivi: Ffg SE in use?!?!?! How do you like it ?

There. That ought to keep it at bay for the next week.

Today's the ubiquitous C36. I can't do without it.

Skitouring with the Pac Salt.. :)

[Enactive and other skitourers / mountaineers: The crampons are the Petzl IRVIS-HYBRID https://www.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/Crampons/IRVIS-HYBRID.
I´ve tested them in various conditions now, and would highly recommend them, especially as ski touring crampons!
- Due to the cord linking instead of a metal part they are very light and especially very compact when folded and in the pack.
- The cord holds up great to contact with rock so far (and could easily be repaired or replaced in the field anyway)
- I love that the front part is solid steel (much better when coming across blue ice or hitting rock), while the back part (which is not that important in skitouring anyway) is superlight aluminium... :) ]
