Though the Waterway that cut my lunch today is a bit blurred in the pic, I just had to post it in order to contrast your again very nice summer pic with some snow... :p

Vivi, this was a very generous gift by Pancake! - Please see here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88507#p1482456

What makes it even more special and will be interesting for you, who modifies edges to his liking: It has a special "Pancake-regrind" (that´s why the Bug and Lances makers mark are missing), and as I said in another thread: It cuts better than any other ffg knife I own, and bites into wood almost as good as my very thin scandi Mora Companion!

HERE viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60127&start=24720#p1482999 you can read what he did

And here another pic from the first hike with the Waterway. Really love that design! :)

Sounds like it'll cut really well for you. I've been experimenting with thinning out primary grinds with my belt sander recently. Opens up more options for tinkering with geometry vs just working the bevels thinner like I've always done. Got an SRK-C from Cold Steel I stripped, thinned out, then soaked in vinegar....carves real nice now.

Interesting piece for sure. Looks like it would be awkward in hand and to use, but definitely something different.

Yes, does not look really comfortable and furthermore is pretty heavy for the size as far as I recall..
But still cool! A bit like a Stretch for some warrior in a post apocalypse movie... ;)

I 100% agree that it looks uncomfortable. That’s what put me off for so many years. But I swear it isn’t. It melts into your hand and stays there. No sharp edges whatsoever. No hot spots. The choil jimping is different. The bigger less aggressive humps feel better to me. Same size as a Native. Rivals any of my Taichungs fit/finish too. I was thinking of writing a review, but it’s such an old model, I’m not sure it would matter.

I know man. :o I get excited sometimes and can’t get the words together. I’m just really taken back by this knife and don’t know exactly how to describe it.
