Vivi, I do hope it's really you (that would make my day) and not someone just kidding us...

The thing that makes me doubt a bit: Pac Salt TWO... I can recall that Vivi clearly preferred the E3 (Pac Salt 1)-handle over the E4 (Pac Salt 2)...

EDIT: Man, it's really you.. just checked your posts, a NEW member would not have (your) over 6000 :p :p
(Btw: Did you get the Manix XL Exclusive? ;) )

Julia, how´s it going with you Manix LW meanwhile? Does it break in even more and you can operate the lock the way you´re used to despite the wire clip?
....
It is definitely better. I can swing the blade shut easily now, which is great. I still prefer a drop shut blade with the cbbl, but I do think it'll get there. I don't think I'll ever love the lightweight quite as much as the g10 version, but for summer carry in light shorts it really is great.
Glad to hear that it is better now! :)

And yes, even just from the few times I could handle a G10 Manix: It's an absolutely amazing both elegant and very solid and sturdy feeling knife.
The LW just fills more of a niche for me than the G10 concerning the Spydies I already have.
If I lost all of them (heaven forbid though) and had to start over again from zero: I'd certainly get a G10 Manix and if possible the Rex 45 sprint. Love the looks of it just from mainly your and Ricks pics...:)

/ On topic: Back to the Stretch 1 today, here on a patch of typical high alpine flowers.

   where did you find a serrated Stretch 1? Though the serrations look a bit too deep and aggressive for my personal preferences, this still has to be an amazing cutting machine...

It's me. Gave the Pacific 2 a chance. It's a good knife.

Pacific Salt 2 Observations, anyone?

That looks great! Were those scales from an old g10 delica, or are they aftermarket?

That's good news. You've been missed here.

/ Did not get a Pac Salt 2 myself yet. I am very happy with my "1" (which I bought mainly based on your recommendations, and it was one of my best decisions).
And I am also very happy with the fact that should I ever have to replace my "1" , there will be the "2" which even offers my preferred Endura handle shape... :)

Here is a thread featuring some comparisons:

I looked, and looked, and looked, and stumbled across it whilst looking for something else entirely... and found the last one on countryknives.com -- it's was $145, but I was more than happy to pay it for a brand new knife that was not to be found on any of the usual secondary markets. I have several boxes I've been saving, and I'm going to do some cutting test this evening with it and a couple other knives.... :)

Cheers,

John

I have been EDCing my Lil' Native with the backlock now for several weeks. I am really enjoying this knife. I also have the compression lock version and a Dragonfly with the G10 scales and I enjoy this knife the most, by far!

I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts. I know you really liked the earlier Pacific Salt. Is the new one an improvement?

Vivi, I started this thread a few months back... hasn't taken off the way I anticipated. I think you would be a great contributor if you're up for it. Sharpening threads have taken a huge nosedive during your absence.

Hi Julia, yes that was originally a foliage green G10 Delica that I RIT dyed the scales navy blue and swapped in the M390 blade and lockbar. I was impressed the scales turned out pretty much the exact dark blue color I was hoping for. :)
