What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
The 0460 is being discontinued and the price is down to around $160 if anybody has ever been tempted by it.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
Out of the box.
Better than Salt 1
- longer and thicker handle.
Better than Delica 4
- bigger Spydy hole
- better shape of the tip - slightly sheepsfoot (IMHO)
- thicker handle.
This is not an objective opinion - it's quite subjective.

So far today I've only gone to the dentist and now laying low at home. Unless I'm called on to butcher a hog or something this little guy will be fine.

I checked off two bucket list knives in the last couple weeks. The Caribbean is in my pocket today, and it was love at first carry - I don't miss the choil like I expected to, and I'm liking the SE so far. I even like the yellow and black, and the ribbed texturing is stellar. As for the Millie, well I actually giggled when I first held it - it's so huge! I can't wait to get back to our property to really test it out.

Caribbean is a shocker! I knew you would eventually grab you a Millie though haha. You've been sniffing around that model for a while now :p A great one to pick up! That's one I always wish I grabbed. Were you able to get it for a decent price?JuPaul wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 12:44 pmI checked off two bucket list knives in the last couple weeks. Ha! Yeah, a millie was inevitable- what's a spydie collection without one? And yeah, that one wasn't too bad - still under msrp - although it did cost me two other spydies.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 12:49 pmCaribbean is a shocker! As for the Caribbean...I've been wanting to step outside my comfort zone a little more. No 50/50 choil, fully SE as an edc, salt knife that isn't a backlock. With all the love it gets around here, it seemed worth a shot. And it totally is. I'm pleasantly surprised how much I've enjoyed carrying it. Summer edc rotation is shaping up to be pretty fun: Caribbean, Manix s90v lw, para3 lw spy27, hawkbill dragonfly salt, pm2 s45vn. My tool steels are getting lonely!

That's how I felt too about the Millie. When the opportunity at the 204P model popped up, I couldn't resist. Definitely has it's place in the collection!
I'm like you, I love me a 50/50 choil or at minimum a ricasso for easy one handed closing. Better be careful with that Caribbean! That's one thing that scares me about that knife, especially in SE. David's posts have had me close a few times...I'm sure I'll grab one in the future as well haha.
It gets pretty warm and extremely humid here in Central NY in the summer months, I too have found myself the past couple weeks (besides when I first got the Rex45 Shaman) gravitating more towards my stainless steel models as well. Summer months I'm hoping to give a bit more attention to my Cruwear knives with their nice balance of properties.

Re: What Spyderco is in your pocket today??
You know, with other no-choil knives I've had to really focus on not accidentally choking up on the edge, but that hasn't happened yet with the Caribbean. Maybe it's the little bit of a guard on the handle, or maybe just the way my hand naturally rests on it. It also might be due to the SE. I think I tend to choke up more during push cuts, which I don't do as much with SE (at least so far).TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 2:05 pmThat's how I felt too about the Millie. And yep, it was time to break out the stainless knives - the heat and humidity are on! And since I'm working mostly from home since my kids can't go to camp, I'm on bike ride/hiking/sprinkler/water gun/kiddie pool duty most days. :D

Seriously, that's an amazing Shaman collection right there! Thought I had it good with my 3! No idea how you choose from all of those!

The lil Dragonfly was feeling photogenic today :) I like how the patina at the laminate line looks so much different at different angles/lighting
