Those scales make the Para 3 look a million times more appealing to me!

I think I will be carrying this for a couple of months. Give Maxamet a good run. I might experiment with different scales.

I'd much rather be using this in a scenery like Julia's photo!

Looks like a mission pump impeller... if I see the inside of one of those, it does not look that good!

Pretty good eye! It's a Sulzer pump impeller that goes to a rotating unit. Just a small cog in the paper making industry. That impeller alone is around $3,500-$4,000. If the tolerances and balance isn't within millimeters of the proper setting, it blows the pump and all sorts of things down the line. Our maintenance guys are a rare breed. This guy that rebuilds them has been doing it for 30 years. We're in trouble when he retires in 3 years!

Yikes! Our whole pump is around that price. And they don’t like sand... but they get fed sand anyway.

Yeaaaa, I can see sand doing some damage!! Over time, it's got to be just as bad as metal on metal. We have 3 paper machines in my mill, we turn bails of cardboard into corrugated paper. Chances are you have some kind of cardboard packaging in your home with WestRock stamped on it. Every other week we have a shutdown to one of these machines (which are about a 1/8th mile long each in length) for repairs and updates. Papermaking is a very messy industry. Each machine, when running properly make the company $10,000/hr in profits!!! It's mind blowing. The uppers get crazy when there's problems haha!

Yup, they are a big improvement over the stock G10. Now I simply must grind off the beer belly from the 52100 Carbon scales (or I could put some effort into grinding off my own belly...)
Past: Dragonfly, Air, Rhino, Lil' Native, Techno 2, Caly Jr., Brouwer, Chap LW, Para3, N5, Watu, ‘Chef, Mantra 2, SSStretch, PM2, Smock, Shaman, Advocate, GB2, Kapara, Military, Bradley Bowie, Province

Present: P4 K390 FRN

Future: Para3 Cruwear (someday)

Regrets: Most of them

If I were gonna commission custom para3 scales, I’d use the pm2 as a guide and try to replicate the portion of the pm2 handle without the choil...

Endela has been talked about quite a bit here lately.. seems like I am definitely not the only one who loves that knife, especially when it comes to the SE version... :)

It's in my pocket right now, yes! But the pic is another one from last summer. Really looking forward to using my Spydies while mountaineering out there again :)
At the moment I would not be allowed to go up there.. one reason: Parts of these mountains are technically in Germany already and the border between Austria and Germany is closed...

Julia, I personally really like "knife pics" like this that also show a bit how / where fellow forum members live, carry and use their knives! :)

And I love getting to see all your terotuf knives anyway! - Especially the Manix (even in "non" terotuf ;) ): Your and Rics (TkoK83Spy) pics of that model really make me want a Manix once more... This time not the lightweight, but but the linered version... don´t know how long I will be able to resist...

I totally agree - it's fun to get a peek into each other's lives here. We all have at least one shared love, of course, but it fits into our lives in such unique ways. I love it. And you should absolutely get a g10 manix, and I will get an Endela! :)

Picture is from last week, but still have these two in the pocket. Only thing that might beat this combo is a SE Endela ;)

Very kind of you to say that Sir! ;)

But your combo is almost perfect imho. Two of my absolute favorites and I do own both too (as you know..;) )

Rick, I've always thought the millie would be way too big for me, but your pics always make me want one, especially in that combo. Love that green! Wish I'd snagged it in the pm2.
