Big con rod? Little knife.
Hi Josh, Yes, they’re con’ rods and pistons out of one of the three (Italian), V-12 Isotta-Franchini, Ship’s Service Diesel Generators (352Kw or 472hp) on board our little Mine Hunters. They’re getting on a bit now and starting to show their age and this old girl spun a crankshaft bearing.

My newly dressed Shaman . . . (rc_bladeworks)

Quite a different handle shape from stock.
It's actually not that big of a departure from stock, it's actually a wee bit thinner, I wasn't positive how I'd like it, but now that I've been playing with it for a day+ I love it... it feels fantastic, and the oils from my hand have darkened the colour a bit, which has only improved the way it looks IMO.... this is my second set of scales from rc and I don't know that I will ever buy any others if the model I want is made by him.... :)

So, if you've maybe seen I'm trying to branch out this week and carry some other knives other than the standard Para 3 LW or Bugout. So far this week it's been a ZT 0460ti and CS exclusive Delica with wharncliffe blade.

Well today, I decided to carry my favorite Manix 2 I own, simply because I love the DLC and dark gray scale combo. The Manix 2 is something I rarely carry to the office and is relegated to a weekend carry or when I know I'll need a hard use knife. It also got pocket time today because I got a notification this AM that another hard use knife I've been lusting after for a while was set to arrive today.

It's only fitting one Spyderco hard use knife is there to welcome another to the collection and have the honors of opening it. I've yet to open the box and the anticipation is killing me. Pics soon.

Love that color combo and kick myself for not getting one of those when I had a chance.

M4 and Pma11 today.

Today I'm carrying the best knife Spyderco has made to date and my all time favorite: the Autonomy 2.

Finally found one for a reasonable price. You can tell it had been out of the box but brand new, factory edge, needed oil but that’s all.

Thnx! I love the pattern too. I know a bunch of folks dislike them and call them Cosby sweater cf but to me they kinda look like Ukrainian embroidery. Also the pattern is similar to the pattern on my late fathers favourite leather belt so it kinda means something to me. Especially because in the last year or so before he passed, I found out he really liked knives and we had something to connect over. We never really did before that for a number of reasons not need be discussed here but I’m glad we found something to bond with before it was too late.
As an added bonus, I have a great knife to add to the collection with the great scales! Love my Manix 2 so this was a logical choice!
