So the honeymoon period with the Smock is over and I finally have started to carry some others again. Smock is such a perfect knife it still gets 80-90% pocket time but some others sneak in now and again. Today it’s my Rhino but tbh, I’ll probably switch back later, lol!

Rick how do you like that Kershaw? I was fired up about them then started reading about them being pretty soft. Not thrilled with non-US manufacture either...

For the $40 or so price tag, I find it well worth it. Has been my camping, kindling wood and small branch chopper for the past couple years now and I've been satisfied with its performance for the price.

It comes with a pretty decent sheath as well. A bit loose, but I've heated it up and helped form it a bit more snug and the machete doesn't rattle as much in the sheath.

The steel is definitely pretty soft, but with soft steels comes easy sharpening and reprofiling. After a weekend camping trip I put it to the stones and can shave arm hair with it! Freaks my wife out when I do it hahah.

^^^^A connoisseur of fine blades and ale. I'm about to grab a cold one myself...but am choosing between a few on hand from Sierra Nevada, Oskar Blues and New Belgium. BTW, haven't had that particular brew from Dogfish Head. Will have to check it out.
