A Caribbean (PE Leaf).

Been in my pocket for two weeks.

I’m still marveling at how very fine it is.

I’m also marveling at how few in this thread are the declarations of carrying one.
IMO the best knife they make, I carry mine almost daily. Even at the current MAP price, it is a bargain. BARGAIN, I SAY!

I want them to use the design for a Mule Team style folding knife. White g10 and some new steel each iteration, everything else identical to the leaf PE Caribbean. It would be immensely capable and be easy to personalize.

Anyways, back from lala land.

What am I carrying today?

Really loving this knife!! Received a compliment on how bad a$$ it looked last night when we went on a double date with her friend from work and her husband. I noticed a pocket clip and he had a Gerber, showed him the Smock...he was amazed, and thought I was crazy to spend that kind of money haha.

This big Spydie is getting some pocket time. Certainly to be respected though. If not careful, she'll lay ya wide open :D

Interesting tool there Peacent. I've never seen one with an adjustable wrench built in like that. What brand is it?

I'm waiting on the LC200N Pacific Salt. I'm all about backlocks and cbbl, don't really buy other lock types these days. Looks like an exceptional design aside from that one hang up I've got.
I won’t try to move you away from backlocks/CBBLs. I like them, too. But, for your consideration, here’s a side-by-side-by-side:
Image
Note that the ratio of working-edge to blade-length is greater on the Caribbean than the other two, yet the Caribbean’s overall length is less than the other two.

Note also that the handle on the Caribbean offers more lengthwise real-estate than the Manix2 XL (comfortable though the latter is even without using the choil) for biggish hands. And the Caribbean offers more heightwise real-estate than the Pac Salt, a marginal improvement for bigger hands.

Moreover, the Caribbean’s pocket-hoggishness is slightly less than the other two.

The Caribbean’s scales are decidedly grippier that either the CF or the FRN.

And, if at the cost of your favored locks, the Caribbean is far more easy to clean, what with its pillar construction, and not only nested but also flush liners.
I've gotten to handle the Caribbean and the handle works great for me. Very neutral shape that doesn't force your hand into specific finger grooves.

Also, I love how much blade they packed into it, and the lack of an index choil. Not a fan of sacrificing 3/4" cutting edge for something I rarely use.

But, without getting too OT, I only carry folders with a nice self close for safety reasons. I've had enpugh detent based locks pop open in my pocket that I don't consider them anymore.

If I'm going to break that rule it's more likely going to be for the XL version :D

I'll post todays carry shortly.

hi!
It's off-brand (Chinese made, rebranded under different names) but I believe the original is called SPLITMAN G57

Shaman variant exclusive hmmmmm.

I am putting down a bet for some awesome sculpted carbon fiber like on the native suspect S90V hope for LC200N steel or perhaps even som CTS-XHP goodness, Cruwear would be nice but probably too much to ask for. I hope it is not more M390
