At the beach? Looks like coral rock.

Today I'm giving my S110V Military an unneeded break in favor of the Native 5 Maxamet.
Yes indeed, you have a good eye. This pic shows the little cove that photo was taken in. The jumbled boulders are old lava flows. Looking roughly SSW off the coastline of Western Victoria, Australia out over the great Southern Ocean. Next stop, Antarctica...

I lived for three months on a coral island a couple years ago, in the Bahamas, so it looked very familiar to me. :)

That's a beautiful picture. I'd love to visit Australia some day! Antarctica, too. ;)
Wow, sounds like a great experience. I'd love to visit Antarctica too, or even work there. Jobs come up from time to time in the Australian Antarctic research stations. In fact, I seem to recall Sal saying somewhere that Spyderco supply knives to the Australian stations.

Maxamet around ocean waters sounds dangerous to me!
Yep, definitely wouldn't be my first choice for a dedicated saltwater environment knife, but a li'l vanity shot while I was looking around that coastline didn't do any harm. ;) :)

Still hooked on the cruwear, even after stabbing the tip of my thumb to the bone 3 nights ago. This is gross (well, in this specific case it wasn't really gross, just the concept of using a knife for this) and I'm not proud of myself, but I went to clean out a toenail and it slipped out. Lesson learned, lol. I haven't cut myself with a knife in many years. I have absolutely no feeling on 1/3 of the tip of my thumb, but I am taking care of it and it's healing quickly and surprisingly isn't sore.

Ouch! Here's hoping that heals up quick - at least it's a nice clean cut. Yeah, my experience matches yours. Don't get bitten often by Spydies, but when they get ya, they get ya good.

Thanks... Yeah they sure do! The tip on the pm2 will sink in like a dagger.

Yes, we enjoyed it. Our church has a mission on one of the islands and my wife and I were there over the summertime. I did a lot of building maintenance and some new construction too. It was really hot and humid, but beautiful, and we were usually able to go to a beach on Saturdays. :)

Antarctica is a interesting continent. I've read a lot of books about Shackleton's ill-fated Antarctic 1914-16 voyage, which I've found particularly fascinating. It's an incredible story. An opportunity to visit and work in Antarctica would be an adventure.

Pretty calendar worthy looking shot. :spyder:

^Ditto for me on the M4 Native. That thing hasn’t left my pocket since it came in. Love it.
