Very new to these forums! I have always been a casual knife collector, receiving them as gifts or occasionally buying cheap ones for myself. I recently decided that I wanted to have a high end EDC knife, so naturally I started looking at Spyderco. I'm from Canada, so I wasn't able to order directly from Spyderco due to our new and sad import laws, but I did find what I was looking for from a Canadian dealer. I am now the proud owner of my first Spyderco and can already tell it's an addiction! I've purchased the Paramilitary 2 in s110v steel along with the Sharpmaker and the UF + Diamond rods. I'm hoping that they will be adequate for keeping the s110v sharp. I guess I will see soon enough as I test the blade in the Canadian Rockies all summer long! I haven't bothered trying to post a picture because I assume that there is a minimum post count required before I am able to do so, but I'll take some pictures of it in use and get them up when I can!

Welcome to the forum both of you :DChance_cornwell wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 10:04 pmM4 manix 2, acidwashed blade, tumbled liners and hardware, jade scales dyed to a blood red :)
Mountainsarefun good choice for a first spydie (that was my second). The Sharpmaker gear you have should be more than enough to keep you in business, just be patient with the s110v, it's very wear resistant so it takes a while to sharpen. No minimum to post pics, post away! :D
I know right? Just trying a different carry set up. I've been on a double streak for the last few weeks, tried carrying just one, but it felt too weird :DBloke wrote: ...

^^ BIG win yesterday. Can't believe they absolutely SMOKED the Cavs and shut Lebron down. Didn't see that coming.

Debating if I want to roll with this patina or get rid of it. What do you guys think?

If I were you, I'd just let it go. Especially if I was going to be using it as an EDC.
But, I am probably not as particular as you or others regarding blade patinas :) So it's your call. I would just warn though that if it's going to see a lot of use, then removing the patina will probably be an ongoing thing.

I'm 50/50 right now. I think it gives it some character, kind of a weathered look which looks good with the Pakkawood. Almost a more traditional style, older feel. But I also like a nice, clean blade look as well, especially on an exclusive. Probably will depend on the day and my mood.

My absolutely every day (no matter what) carry is a British Blades limited edition Urban in Elmax steel and British Racing Green FRN.
I'm at that point where I don't feel properly dressed when I go out unless it's in my pocket :o :D
