Thanks nicked.onaut! I spent a good month rebuilding that receiver. It is looker and really sings.
Although I carried the blurple PM2 today I subbed it for the M390. Unfortunately I don't own the BBS para3 (yet.. :D ).
Cheers!

That's a real beauty. Perfect faceplate, relamped also. Sweet sounds with the KEFs. Congrats on the skills and perseverance with the rebuild.
"Dang, what's wrong with this solder-sucker? It sucks! oh...wait..."

Young folks accustomed to digi iTunes on earbuds, say "Whoa!" when they hear rich sounds, eh.

Thanks for the kind words. The rebuild definitely tested my patience, especially the amplifier boards. My father purchased it in ‘73, and it sat in a cold Minnesota garage for several years. Surprisingly it worked when he gave it to me, but man oh man I couldn’t believe the sound after I finished biasing when all the components were swapped. The KEFs reveal well what detail it can produce. Now if only I can refrain from buying Spydercos for awhile maybe I can save up for a pair of LS50’s.

As far as rabbit holes go I think HIFI is more dangerous to go down than most! Maybe those low fidelity Spotify folks are on to something... ;)

Late to the party...

but for over a year I carried a black on black plain edge tenacious and it was the best pocket knife I ever owned.

For one it was a Christmas present, and my first Spyderco... It was love at first flick and I instantly gravitated toward the patented "Spydey Hole".

These days I carry the black / digi camo pm2 and swap it for the lightweight manix 2 sv110 :)

This is a public forum sir. Not national geographic.
Those knives have had too much to drink.

I'm carrying the orange SE spyderhawk.

Nice vintage Manix, and Sansui! Love the Sansui sound. A friend has an vintage integrated amp and tuner from Sansui. Super clear and detailed.
