I too have wondered this. Will be buying the first screwed one I see! My years old, heavily used orange rescue is my fav work knife. Not keen on "adjusting" the pivot with a whack of a ball peen hammer every so often though (but it does work :)

Best to call the dealer. iirc all Salt knives have moved away from pinned construction for a cost savings/ease of warranty and repair. That doesn't mean old stock doesn't exist though with dealers.

If your ordering from a popular online knife distributor(NG, KW, CS, KC) im pretty sure you will be getting a newer, screwed pivot model.

Though, like Blev suggests, giving a call is probably the best bet.

About a month ago, I bought a Tasman Salt. Pivot screw and back spring screw were torx. Flipping the knife over (side that shows "H1" on the blade), these look like 2 caps - rounded appearance - looking like pins. So, torx for adjustment, but appears like pins from the most photogenic side! Adjustment on mine was perfect, so no worries.
