My favorite Schempp design always was, is and most likely will be original C83 bolstered / black micarta Persian. IMHO it is one of the best looking Spydercos ever made. In addition to this the knife has fantastic ergos and great for cutting. It is going through cardboard boxes like thorough butter.

for these, who didn't have enough of C83 follow the link

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

The original large Persian is probably my favorite too. But the Khukuri and Barong tie for second.

I'm a huge Schempp fan. So many great designs, it's hard to pick favorites...

I only own the Rock but its def a favorite. It sits tucked into my side of the bed frame and I've actually used it for that purpose. We live in a ruff part of town and for some reason our yard is often used to cross from the ally to the main street. LAST NIGHT, next door called my wife to say there was an on foot case that led down our back ally. Turns out the perp ran into our yard and hid. With the Schempp tucked into my pants and outside of my shirt, the lady-on-the-run took one look at me blocking the patch to the street, ran back to the ally and into the arms of our local PD.
Glad I've never been in a real SD situation but the handle of the Rock has some serious intimidation factor. I don't kid myself in using it against someone. The Rock certainly lives up to its name for many other reasons, intimidation is just a perk.

Cheers,
GT

Nice collection there. I don't have any Schempp's at the moment but the Rock is definitely on my "to get" list.

I don't own one yet, but the bolstered / red micarta Persian. I have held it and as bh49 has said many times, the ergos are fantastic.

Tuff. It is a beast of a work knife.

And it could be a self defense knife, leave the blade closed
and beat a perp about the head. He won't get up.

Just to clarify, the red Persian has polished G-10.

Thanks for the clarification. I was thinking of the black one and got my wires crossed.

The Persian. Great knife, and the small one seems to be perfect for my hand. Image

Kris, it fits my hand better than the Persian and i love the way it performs. It's one of my EDC rotations i just wish i had a spare. Ironically i was playing with my Persian when i got online and into this thread. I really would love to see a Persian or Kris in carbon steel. Damascus would be amazing and very appropriate if you ask me.

A Persian, with some of Ed's Damascus, sound like a sweet sprint, for sure...

The Barong, though the Khukri and Persian aren't far behind. The latter really surprised me how much I liked it when I picked one up, because I'm not normally a fan of trailing point style blades.
Newest :spyder: in hand: Halloween Handle Hap40 Endura and Delica.

I like almost all of the Schempp designs. They are just striking and beautiful at the same time. Some of them even look downright uncomfortable until you hold them. Then you instantly understand the genius in the design.
I would love to have a Kris and a Red Persian, but i am not fortunate enough :(
