Nztive. When I first picked one up I didn't expect anything ....it was a mid break and you can't close a mid break one handed. but this one I could close. ( one handed operation is a standard requirement for me for a folding knife that I almost never give in on.) In addition the native had a very thick blade that you could put alot of pressure on. and the grip/jimping allowed you to safely hold way down on the blade for close or tight quarters work. my first native was my edc for years till I broke the tip while abuseing it once again. It was replaced by a new native within a week. That native is still my edc. It will likely be retired by the new forum knife when that comes out. Yes I will actually use that knife not just resell it at a profit to pay for something else.

I'm a little old school. My favorite Spydie used to be the Caly Jr....then the Chaparral came along and well replaced the Caly Jr. :)

I constantly have a new "favorite" knife. Right now it's the CF Caly 3. First of all, it fits my hand perfectly. All the corners of the handle are nice and rounded, and the handle's shape just melts into my hand. Secondly, it's a great size. I have begun to carry my knifes clipless in pocket, and this is as big as it gets without being too big. For instance, my Sage 1 is too big and bulky to go clipless. The Caly just feels much more slender in pocket. I keep it in the same pocket as my smartphone, so it has something to rest against that keeps it straight up and down in my pocket. Lastly, and most importantly, the ZDP-189 is astounding. It takes a wicked edge and keeps it. As long as I touch it up regularly, it's a breeze to keep sharp.

Spyderco Superleaf : new found love for the right blade shape & thickness, comp lock, comfy G10 handle, decent VG-10 and discreet wire clip. Sadly it's disco'd...but rides with me almost everyday! :)

It's almost impossible for me to choose less than twenty knives but right now my top ten could be:

1.- Any CF Millie
2.- S90V PM2
3.- Starmate (the old nice one)
4.- S90V Manix2
5.- S30V ATR (titanium)
6.- Bradley
7.- Spyderco Caly 3 damascus
8.- G-10 Endura
9.- Lil' Temperance
10.- Howard Viele

Honorable mentions: Native 5, SuperLeaf, Barong, Phoenix, LionSpy, Stretch, Lava, Brad Southard, Techno, Sage (any), CF Dodo, Navaja, Lil Matriarch, Vallotton, Centofante Memory, G-10 Bob Terzuola, CF Kopa, damascus jigged bone Delica... etc!

Depends what you want it for. For me:-

Ti UKPK -> Best possible legal slipjoint knife for public carry in the UK.
P'Kal (+Trainer) -> Best possible folder for self defence.
Yojimbo (the old one) -> Another excellent folder for self defence.
Junior -> Best possible folding lock knife for EDC use around the house.
Bushcraft -> Best possible knife for camping.
Bug -> Best and most useful necklace I've ever had!

The Chaparral first generation gets more use than any of my other Spydercos. For a slightly smaller knife, I like the Michael Walker. If I want really small, I may pocket a Kopa in CF or a lock-bak Kiwi, also in CF. frankly, the Chaparral is a perfect size for EDC in almost any environment.

Damascus Caly 3, Street Beat, and Manbug ZDP.

Why? Because their spyderco's....
Don't mess with the Spyder because you think you're fly.
Transcend the illusion.
