Hello together, yesterday I have had a meeting with Sal and Eric in Nürnberg on the IWA exhibition and Sal invited me to the Spyderco forum.
So here I am.
Some of you will know me and some of you not. I am Uli Hennicke living and working in Germany, since about 18 years my live is turning arround knives and one wonderfull thing is, the cooperation with Spyderco at the ULIZE folder.
So if you have questions or ideas about the ULIZE please let me know.

Have a great day Uli :)

Welcome to the Spyderco Forum Uli, it's an honor to have you aboard.
Is there any chance that your knife will come out in a sprint run with
the textured carbon fiber that I believe was once planned for the ULIZE.

Greeting and welcome Herr Hennicke,

Hi Ulrich Hennicke,

I'd like to direct your attention to a question I asked about the Ulize in another thread - would you be so kind as to let me know what your opinion is on this concern of mine regarding lateral stress :

Hopefully my above concern won't come across as harsh....I sure don't mean to. Most likely there's no real cause for concern...

Welcome to the forum. Ulize is on my list of things to get, but I haven't been very swift at getting it.

People commented last year at the Amsterdam meet that the Ulize was either lighter or handled better than the Police 3. I never got an explanation on what they meant. I am thinking I just need to handle one.

Thanks for your warm welcome.

If I understand your question right, that some of you are thinking about that the blade is maby to slim for lateral stress.
I do not think so, I am using my ULIZE, one of two prototyps from Seki ;-) in the workshop, barn and garden realy hard to test the knife. All I can say is, that everything works realy fine.
I am not having this opinion because I designed this knife, no, it is just a verry well made folder.
Sure if you will use the blade as a lever it will brake at one point, but the ULIZE was designed as a cutting tool and this works verry good, the recurved blade gives a nice cutting performance in many cutting situations.

I agree a grooved carbon handle whould be a great addition to this folder. We are thinking about having some small advancements and differend versions of the Ulize in the future.
Maby we can make a smaller version also, the ULIZE S, ore bring some color to the handle and so on.

So we need your help and opinions.

I hope I could help a little.
Take care Uli
