Interesting mystery. If it is legit, it is a newer batch since the old DLC camo had silver hardware IIRC. You could always check the manufacture date on the box. If the box is pre 2012 and it has black hardware, I would be suspicious. But I think you got a legit one. Just missed the stamp I guess. Hows the sharpness?

My eyes might be deceiving me but the jimping on that knife does not look like mine; I have a real DLC/camo in my hand right now and the cuts on the thumb ramp are pointed backwards towards the handle; the cuts on the one in question above look like they are pointing straight up after the second cut; maybe a totally horizontal pic/shot of the blade jimping would take me out of my confusion. In my opinion, which is of no value except to me, it could be fake. I hope I'm wrong. How much did you pay for it?

#1. My guess is that Spydero realized like some bean counter that if the skip the engraving and everything else they can increase production
#2. I hope they don't look like this I hate this look, its cheap
#3. If this is going to be the new standard my 2 Paramilitary 2's with the Spyderco logo and Engraving and says Golden Colorado USA Earth just became a whole lot more valuable.

Pix would really help, but, I haste to break it to you, but from what you're saying, it does sound like China has upped their game.

Anything is possible these days, but I'd rate the probability of a "near perfect" clone with no markings several orders of magnitude lower than those of a "fairly obvious" one complete with tang markings and :spyder: logo or those of a "pretty good" clone with the markings of one of their fake brands like Navy. The knife's source would also be a factor. If it's from a reliable internet dealer in the USA, then the chance of it being a clone are zero. If from eBay, there's more of a chance, and if from an eBay seller in the Far East, then it's probably a clone.

Like the Deacon said, reveal the source and the price paid. These data points, while not conclusive in themselves, may point somewhere. It looks really good in the photos. If it is a clone, I'll bet the folks at Golden would like to see it.

I can't imagine that a Chinese fake would have nested liners. That adds a ton of cost to production.

I can't believe it, but this looks legit! Wow!

Thanks guys. I agree, it turned from a mediocre knife to a very nice knife.

I really appreciate Jeff Forbush for helping me get it done for a reasonable price.

Dear all,
Please forgive me for not getting back to you regarding my Paramilitary 2 purchase. I ended up returning it for exchange, had no issues from the seller (he very cool about it), and all is good with the world.
Thank you all very much for your advice and assistance with my questions.
This is a great resource, and I will try to do a better job of keeping up in the future.
Thank you again!
