Thanks for all of your effort Wouter. I have to ask, did you pull the videos down? They are not showing up for me anymore, but I was able to watch them yesterday.

It was either a very temporary glitch, or the problem is at your end, as they're currently all showing up and working fine for me.

Thanks again Wouter for posting them.

Hi Wouter,

hope you're feeling well again.
I had a flu myself during my first visit to Las Vegas, I guess we europeans are not accustomed to the ice cold air conditions inside and the desert climate outside.
Any words by Sal or Eric about the Caly jr. sprint?

I didn't take them down and they're still looking fine on my end.

Spyderco 2013 Prototype Video – Domino

#45

Post by Mr Blonde »

The Domino prototype was one of my favorites. The flipper-action was really smooth and the opening hole was better to use than on the Southard for example. The profile reminds me of the Manix; it is about the same size and has the same great ergonomics. This one is definitely on my wishlist. Note that the handle material is a glass woven laminate over G-10, not carbon fiber. Eric mentions the clip being right-hand only, but you can see that the handle seems to be drilled for a 4-way clip. I’ll check it out further at the upcoming Amsterdam Meet.

Alright, NOW someone has finally posted something that got me excited. The Domino looks amazing.

So excited! I'll definitely be saving up for the Domino, Karahawk, and Matriarch.

Do you have projected MSRPs on any of these?

Thanks Spyderco! And thanks Wouter!

The Domino is the one that my "source" at SHOT was talking about. It's looks way cooler than he described. I may have to get one.

Yeah, that's my concern. Exotic steel, exotic handle, lock stabilizer, titanium... This thing is probably going to run $220 retail. Siiiigh.

Domino looks cool! Is the texture of the scale more like the Taiwanese CF? Or more smooth? So far, I like the pattern much better than Nishijin. Hopefully it has some texture to it too.

The Karahawk looks really neat, and the Emerson Matriarch 2 has been on my shortlist since the catalog came out, but the Domino looks like it's going to be really, really popular. Great knife design.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
