Hey Afropoland,
From what I've read on this forum, the lanyard tube in some of these knives rattle.
I'm not sure if it's being considered a warranty issue or not.
You could contact Spyderco warranty or customer service and ask them about it.
Just don't take your knife apart, as it voids said warranty.
Btw, welcome to the forums.
Later,
Don

Yep, mine did this too, it was really annoying and I contacted Spyderco Repair on the matter, I could send the knife in. Didn't do it instead I took a tiny drop of Epoxy glue and applied it through the lanyard hole. And now the rattle is gone ;)

Edit: Nice to have called it a bug :) , I have a workaround :D

That's not a bug, it's a feature. Doubles as a baby rattle, snake call or audible location system.

If you have a set of steel punches you could just tap the lanyard tube so it flares out just enough to be tight and not rattle. Very very simple fix.

Would that void the warranty?
The important thing was that I had an onion tied to my belt, which was the style at the time. You couldn't get white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

I can't imagine why it would. It doesn't require taking it apart. All you're doing is tapping the tube with a punch just hard enough to flair it out, which wouldn't be very hard at all. I'd say it would be even less impact than dropping the knife on the floor.
