Larger sized flipper in the making?

#1

Post by Jim Malone »

The Southard seems a great succes. Apart from my reservations about pricing the knife seems great. It is however too small for my taste. I like the bigger :spyder: . The Gayle Bradley and Military seems about the right size for me.
Will there be a bigger flipper in the future?
Sal?

I don't believe that is a flipper. It's a non locking knife. Filip De Leeuw C167G 2013 spyderco knife is similar.

Isn't the Southard larger than the GB and equal sized to the Military?

The southard is actually very similar in size to the GB. Even though its significantly smaller than a ZT0560 it has almost the same amount of cutting edge which is very impressive to me.

Gayle Bradley Folder: length overall 8.078 " (205 mm)
Southard Flipper: length overall 7.96" (202 mm)

3 mm thats very little difference indeed.

Military: length overall 9.5" (241 mm)

4 inch blade Flipper would be nice be I wouldn't carry it, just a nice to have like an XM24 but I prefer 3.5" blades for EDC. I would rather prefer a smaller backup flipper.
Current EDC: Techno, Squeak, Southard Flipper, Caly 3.5

New Arrivals: Chap3, Domino, Sage 3

2014 Wishlist: Yo2 CF, Deviant Friction, Tatanka, Tusk, Firefly

Oldies Wishlist: Delica CF PE, Civilian CF PE
