I was visiting a friend in Frankfurt (Germany) and while strolling along I came across a great knife shop smack in the middle of the city. The NIB Commemorative Worker (nr 652) in the shop window was swiftly exchanged for some euro-stamped-paper and I stepped out poorer but happier ! :D
If you look at the design of the Worker (and the quality build) it is clear that with a start like that a (w)hole <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> family of clipped-holed-single-handed-opening-(sometimes-)tactical-knives followed. Another thumbs-up for Sal and the Spyder-people.
Now I wonder whether I should keep it in the beautiful box or let it do its tour of duty as EDC on the lookout for all sorts of things to cut (I mean boxes, ropes etc ...).

Personally, I like to hold, flip, touch and feel ALL of my knives from time to time, and I let them all go out in the world. Give your knives some love, and let them live. We all have the ones we carry most often, but take them all out for a spin once in a while. Throw the box away.

Cutbait, I know what you mean, besides being practical it is just amusing to "play" with the knives, but since every steel I touch turns to rust <img src="sad.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> (even the backstrap of my stainless S&W 686 !) in the blink of an eye (yes, even TufGlide just slows it down) I clearly make two groups of knives : look-knives (eg Forum Military, Perrin Griffe, Q's and now I guess -sigh- Commemorative Worker) and use-knives.
Even the handles on my spydercard are (lightly) pitted and covered with fine rust spots, the same with a Gerber Tool, beadblasting CRKT-style is impossible for me. I am waiting for Spyderco to make Mouse/Navigator/Meerkat style knives with coated blades and nonmetallic (G10 or Micarta please) handles. For the moment though VG10 seems to hold up well (Mouse & Calypso Jr as EDC). Concerning the Box : look at Chinooks photo and reconsider your suggestion ...

I feel your pain about sweat Philip375
I am constantly battling rust on my Spydercard
I have even made 420 rust!
I handled my Cold Steel Spike and put it away without wiping it and next time i removed it from it's sheath, It had rust spots all over!
One thing I like about the VG-10 is it doesn't seem to pit. The rust seems to only form surface flakes.
