I <b>Will</b> be getting one of these. It will offer a glimmer of hope, and a reminder, if this event should ever happen to fall from mankinds' mind.

I just have to find a way to pay for it, possibly holding off on the 25th anni(I have $500 at the moment, rapidly dwindling while I hunt for a job), and those 2 will set me back quite a bit. I can grab the WTC and wait a bit longer for the 25th. $380 or so, but well worth it.

We will never forget the events which brought the world together, for it shaped our future.

I just wish I knew where Osama was and I could get my hands around his scrawny little neck. I'd hit him so hard with my right, he'd beg for a left. And I'd let him have that too, before taking him too *any* firehouse. What they would do to him would not be pretty. But it would be well deserved. Then I'd scrape him up and go collect the reward. Hate the M^&*^&*^%.

A wonderful gesture from a wonderful company. This is another great example of what makes Spyderco more than just a knife.

A company that goes above and beyond.

Congratulations Sal and the rest of the Spyderco crew. This is a great looking knife and a fantastic gesture. Unfortunately our exchange rate makes it impossible for me to buy one but I'm looking forward to the "John D'Allara Rescue" which I'll be proud to carry in his memory.

Excellent move, Sal & co.! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

How do you plan to advertise this little beauty? TK and Blade would be great, your stock would probably instantly vanish into the hands of grateful collectors.

Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

I sincerely thank you for making this knife. I will be ordering one immediately. Can linda get me one or do i go through sfo? This will serve as a great reminder of that day, innocents lost, heroes slain, and hideous terrorism.

Are the non numbered one going to be less expensive? I might get a numbered one for display and a nonnumbered one for carry.

Spyderco isn't making any money off of this. They have tried to keep costs to them as low as possible and many people have volunteered their services in helping this knife see production. All of the proceeds will be given to the charity hat was set up for the widows and widowers of the fire and police personnel who died in the tragedy.

Knifepunk.
Did you actually read the storey on Spyderco's home page ?

The project was done with the blessing and considerable help from the NYPD, many people have donated there time and services to the project free of charge, and 100% of the profits from the sale are going to go to the charities set up to support the emergency services victims.

Yes this is a very emotive subject, but another person who feals very strongly is Sal Glesser, and it would be a shame to go trampling all over his fealings without carefully reading the press release first.

I'm in!

Just talked to Joan: She will be sending out Collectors Club letters on these soon. This is a Special Issue and as such will be offered to CC members like a variation (optional purhase) but labled without the V. (Java gargles and emitts very poor imitation Homer Simpson drooling sounds. "Mmmmmmmmm...... S30V!&quot<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Thanks Joan!!!! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>
Hats off to the entire crew at <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>co for their continuing support of our SAS personnel!!

Knifepunk,

"One hundred percent of the profit derived from the project will be donated directly from Spyderco to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children Benefit Fund in memory of the Firefighters, Law Enforcement Professionals and Medical personnel lost on that unforgettable day."

Wait 'til you're as old as Java before you get so cynical! <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

Sorry to get on your case Knifepunk. Probably me just waking up in a bad mood. I work with a guy that can only see the worst in every situation, even when he doesn't know all or any of the facts, so I'm probably a bit sensitive to this sort of thing.

Any hoo, I've had my cups of coffee today, so everythings ok again <img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>

BTW
It might have been that your internet browser needed refreshing. It's caught me a few times.

Stay cool.
