Delica III. The perfect lightweight EDC. I love my Salt I and D4, but I miss the needle point (lacking in the Salt I) combined with the ultralight weight (missing in the D4) of the Delica III. I stupidly sold mine 3-4 years ago.

A toss up between C-54 & C-60

#25

Post by JD Spydo »

Right now it's a virtual tie between the C-54 big Calypso and my ever beloved C-60 Ayoob model.

For Spyderco small blades it's without a doubt the Dodo model.

For fixed blades it's the Temperance 1 model.

And for special purpose knives I'll always love the Catcherman which I hope will come back in a newer/better blade steel some day.

Super blue Caly 3.5., or the S90V P2 .What? Doesn't count? How about the G10 Endura then?

I can't forget the Captain

Post by JD Spydo »

OH I forgot one category>> in the weird, unique and highly unusual category I dearly miss the C-111 Captain model. It is a deer skinning dream and I'm finding mine extremely handy for all kinds of cutting chores.

The C42 Viele is perfect.

A sprint rerun would have been amazing (so I could get a spare)

I would pay good money for a sprint run of a Captain and a Khukuri, and try to always keep a couple hundred $ on reserve should one pop up at a reasonable price on a BST forum. I regret that I got into collecting this late in the game and missed out on many nice products ):

Sure they do! ;) For me, the CF Balance. Really hoping for a Super Blue just like it.

Said it before and I'll say it again; Love that knife, JAfromMn. Didn't I read somewhere that Sal said they weren't going to make spyderedge blades out of ZDP 189 because the steel was too hard to work with? This is probably the knife that made him realize that. Too bad, because, man, I love that knife.

The Urban Leaf FG - hands down.
I tried my G10 UKPK, Lonewolf Presto and Boker Cox as EDC knives because on paper they had better specs but for me, the Urban is just perfection in ergonomics. Light in the pocket (I don't use clip as I don't want it to show) comfortable in the hand and slices cardboard like a lightsabre!

The Gunting and Ronin; don't ask me to pick one or the other. I anticipated discontinuation, and bought several extras of each.

I regret not buying one of the fixed-blade Hossom collaborations.

The fixed-blade Temperance is another favorite, though it has come back, thankfully, in modified form. I acquired one of the original version.
