Post by akbell »

I have an all stainless 3' spyderco that I have not seen anywhere else.

The handles are 3', the blade is 2" on one side the blade has Seki-City Japan and the other has Spyderco Gin-1 stainless, the blade spyder edge.

Never seen it in catalogs or stores, any one got a clue?? Thanks akbell@atlantic.net

Could be a number of items. Possibly an older co-pilot or other small one. Any further comments on shape, blade profie, etc. Clip position, maybe? A pic would be the easiest way to help...

no way o input a pix. The current catalog doesn't list any blades made of Gin-1 stainless, or Seki-City Japan. akb

Hi Akbell. My guess would be a Pegasus.

Does the blade look sorta like a Boeing 747?

Hi Fozzy. I believe the Executive would have listed G-2 rather than GIN-1. I believe the same might be true of the Spur.

It could be a recent CoPilot as mentioned.

Any way you can scan a pic? If you can and email it to me I will post it. Probably the only way we will get a definitive answer.

That knife sounds like an early version of the Pegasus.

The handle is shaped like a Native and the blade looks like a Copilot.

Hey akbell/guys, I too have a very similar Spyderco, however this one has an G10 handle rather than Stainless and a plain blade rather than SpyderEdge. All the markings on the blade are the same and the handle and blade shape sound identical. Also the packaging has a sticker with "Experimental" on it. Mine was sold to me as an early version of the Pegasus. Hope that helps.

Whoops ! Spot the newbie, what I have actually been sold is an early version of the Navigator !
