3 knives, 3 materials, all sharp, which is sharper, in order?

Just like the title says, can you geuss which blade is sharpest and 2nd sharpest? My test is a very subjective and unscientific test of pushcutting a flimsy phonebook page and my gauging subjectively which offers the least resistance. My inquiry is not a gauge of worth or practicality. All pushcut the paper easily, two, however stand out :D One for me was the obvious winner :D

My 50th birthday is approaching  It's my custom to make a gift if I can before that anniversary hits. Last year it was a couple of old friends who were the recipients. This year it will be a forum member :) After all it has been this forum that has helped me so much in gaining the understanding to make these blades so sharp :D

Whoever geusses the right order of sharpness of the knives in the picture will be sent the red obsidian knife at the top of the picture. The winner will be the one who geusses the right order and is closest to the random number I'll generate a week from now from Random.org ;) There are nine possibilities  Don't include the stone knife in your selection, theoretically obsidian can be very sharp, but in this instance it only has a reasonably sharp serrated type edge :)

Hint: All of the metal blades are capable of equal pushcutting sharpness ;)

Tried to post the highest res pic I could. Enjoy the mind game :)

If we are talking about new knives out of box, no special kreining or reprofiling to 1 degree inclusive i would guess: Cento3, dragonfly (I can be wrong, but looks like reprofiled already), and than GB.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

You misunderstood bh. I should have specified knives in the picture as I have sharpened them :) I'll edit the original post.........

I'd say the obsidian is the sharpest...

BTW DB, can you knap glass the same way you knap obsidian? That would be a good SHTF skill, IMHO. Lots of glass to be had.

I would say Dragonfly (because of FFG), then GB then Centofante.

Unfortunately I don't have any of these three but I'm thinking of my Caly 3 compared to my hollow grinds.

Hi Charlie,

Very nice contest. In theory, Obsidian should be able to hold the finest edge on a melecular basis. It is sometimes used for eye surgery. my second guess would be the one of the powdered steels, ZDP or M4. I'm not entering, just sharing thought.
