Sal,

Is the Native 5 screw together construction, or riveted?

This is wonderful news. More and more I am becoming a fan of FRN for its strength and light weight. Very intrigued by N5, but if a lighter FRN version is coming, I can wait.

I actually prefer FRN to G10, so I'm diggin' this news. Would it be reasonable to expect that this variation will be cheaper than the G10 model?

Just a guess, but based on the fact that no FRN version of a given knife has ever cost as much or more than a G-10 version of the same model, I'd say yes, it will almost certainly be less expensive unless Spyderco decides to pair the FRN with a super-expensive, nearly impossible to grind, exotic steel.

Hi Mike,

We're moving as fast as possible. We've got quite a few irons in the fire.

Hey Paul, That's the plan.

So you're saying the S110V Native 5 you alluded to here will be FRN?

Interesting :) The logic makes sense. Have to make sure I sock away some cash.

Sal,
I'd love to help out. Please send parts here for further testing assistance. :p

On a more serious note, what are the odds of an FRCP Native?
Thx,
Nick

I've been being good about not spending money on knives I don't need lately. But the Native 5 has always been on my radar for its size, sleek looks, and blade steel. So if a lighterweight frn version comes out...I'm going to have to buy one immediatly lol. It'll become a new edc for sure.
