Stealth Chaparral coming soon
Stealth Chaparral coming soon
Meet Eric at the g4 gathering yesterday. Knife expected next month. Saw some other nice protos there as well. Sorry for no pics. Only had my crappy work phone and the camera on it wouldn't do the knives justice.

Here is Mr. Blonde's info from his Amsterdam 2012 Report.donutsrule wrote:Thanks for the update. Is the one after the "stealth" along the lines (no pun intended) of the recent Ti Millie and Native textures?
-Loving this line so far, and hoping to grab one of each :)
Mr Blonde wrote:The Chaparral Titan Stealth was apparently the first design for the Chaparral series. Unfortunately, only now the maker can pull it off. The tips and dips of the facets in the titan handle are only ten thousands of an inch high or deep, depending on your point of view. Eric explained that the stop pin actually pushes into the blade, resulting in a tight lock-up.
It’s a stunning piece. I didn’t care much for the Chaparral line, but this will be part of my collection and EDC. The little knife feels great in the hand and the thin blade should be an excellent cutter. I also got the impression the jimping on the blade was cut a bit sharper than my other Taichung made knives, which is a good thing in my book.

Found this on my doorstep an hour or so ago. The good folks in Taichung have done yet another amazing job. Fit and finish are excellent and lockup is rock solid. It's about 4/100" thinner, but an eighth of an ounce heavier, than the CF version. While the texture does show in the photos, it really has to be felt to be appreciated. I know my photos aren't nearly as good as Wouters, but I had to share.
On a different note, the wannabe engineer in me would love to know how in heck it's put together. The textured handle precludes thru pins, so there's either a lockbar pivot and at least one backspacer support hidden under the handle slabs, or those items have fixed studs attached to them that fit into holes in the slabs.

Thanks ever so much Sal, and rest assured I will enjoy it. :)
