Tip-up/down clip, should Spyderco be working on it?

Hi guys,
Here is a neat tip-up/down clip prototype by Surefire for its flashlights. It allows choice of carrying style without having to reposition the clip. Do you think that Spyderco should be working on something similar?

Carlos,
IMO, it would be an excellent idea for this type of clip to be used on Spydies. However, I would suggest using durable steel clips that won't bend easily, break, etc., and with a little less bulk.
I tend to prefer tip down carry, but it would be very convenient, for versatility in carry options, without having to completely switch the clip around. I think that many Spyderholics would prefer this clip in that their usual method of carry would be consistent with all Spydies that they use for EDC. (One thing to note is that not all s come with the tip up/down carry option.)
Just my .02

I would have to agree with kraziekurtis on this one. In that particular application, the flashlight is already "bulky/ugly" so adding this type of clip does not make much difference. Also, wouldnt this type of clip make the knife rather akward to grip (again not in issue for the flashlight due to it's size/shape).
For the record I prefer tip down.
Knife Knut on a shoestring budget.

I thought that I would like bezel down on the E2e I had.Seem that it would protect the lens more.As far as a Spyderco goes I don't think it would work very well,IMO the native LW clip sticks out to far from the handle as it is.

Carlos,
As others have alluded to; the clip design suggested while versatile, is less compact and smooth than current designs. In a knife I believe it is far more important to have a sleek profile than it is with an already large flashlight...I think that if a choice of clip position were to be made available it should be done by virtue of selectable mounting holes for steamlined clips.

While many have a strtong preference for tip up or tip down, I don't really care. I'm equally unconcerned with which side of the knife the clip is on. I really hate scales that are different and block lefty access to the blade by the thumb. If you make knives with non- mirror image scales, make mirror images of the non-mirror image scales so that your righty specific designs also come in lefty specific models.
Carlos,
I don't know if it'd like it until I could feel it in my pocket. I like less metal outside the pocket to rub against objects.
Why not offer it as an option to purchase, or if inexpensive enough include one in every box. This way anyone could change it to either style and back if they didn't like it.

Be Excellent to each other.

Wow, I'm surprised the opinion is so unanimus. But I'm also glad it's unanimously agreeing with what I think.
Where I live a certain amount of discretion is required. With this type of clip it looks as though the clip would have to be positioned fairly central, meaning more of the knife would be sticking out the pocket.
Walk softly, carry a big stick.

No. Just drilling four sets of holes would work great, or the barrel bolt system also works fine.
Instead of a new clip, should release what type/size of Phillips is needed to remove the clip screws! I have darn near every size, and still can't comfortably remove a clip w/o stripping, or starting to.
Keepin' it real...real sharp, that is.

Instead of wasting development dollars on a "new" clip design
spend them on a new way to carry your spyderco's. Look for ways
to carry your spydie such as a clipped sheath with magnets or sticky
rubber inserts to hold the knife in a pocket pouch as an example.
Experiment with embedded magnets to hold the knife on a metal belt
clip as another example. I other words find new different ways to
carry a knife just as Spyderco did years ago. It can be limited only
by your imagination.
