Did you know: The Tuff is a fighting knife
According to the latest KC newsletter, the Tuff is an awesome single-focus fighting knife. LOL! :D
From their Aug newsletter:
I guess they missed that memo... :)

Just saw this and almost spit up my morning coffee... The description in their catalog is more accurate; I suspect the copy text in the e-mail newsletter was borrowed from the description of something like the Yojimbo 2. That, or someone just looked at the picture and made something up.
Either way, this is knifecenter we're talking about... [sigh]

It's an interesting marketing phenomena that is more common than one might expect. Creating and maintaining correct information flow through a distribution chain is challenging at best. To us, who create the pieces, the smallest details have been pondered. To many of our ELU's, the smallest details are also important. But to many in the chain, that are often dealing with hundreds if not thoussands of SKU's, it's getting the right words with the right models and pictures. A different, but also difficult sorting job.
That's one of the positives about maintaining a forum that permits direct contact between product producer and ELU.

Actually, there are YouTube vids of a PMA instructor explaining how great the Schempp Rock is for his martial art. The Tuff has that same kukri style forward blade sweep so it would really excell at slash cuts I'm thinking.
I put mine to work this morning making shavings for fire starting. It worked really well, the choked up grip is very comfy for that kind of thing. I guess you could call that self defense use if you were really cold...
I couldn't bring myself to do any batoning with it though. Not when I have my F1 anyway, although you could use it for light kindling batoning if you really had to in a survival situation.
Still trying to figure out what types of things this Tuff really excels at.
