What Sprint Run would you like?

#1

Post by Spidey »

Another unrelated thread had me thinking; I'm sure there are plenty of wishes out there.

I'll start: I'd love to see a Sprint Run of a ZDP-189 Ladybug in serrated edge, possibly in another color than British green racing. I love Ladybugs and I love that steel but the missing SE is what keeping me off getting another Ladybug to my collection :(
Yes I'm aware it's a very hard steel but we're talking Sprint Runs here so I'm sure they can make a few :D

Also I got my attention on the G-10 Civilian lately but I have enough knives in VG-10 and for the MSRP ($180-$200) I think I could get a premium steel, say S30V for example oh yeah! (nothing wrong with VG-10 mind you)

Heck while I'm at it, who wouldn't like to see the Captain or Mules back?

What do you say?

Well, i guess i'll play along. How about a Kiwi sprint, Ti bolsters and CF scales, ZDP or Super Blue, in the original locking/shaped handle Kiwi design..

I yearn for the day when a customized Spyderco knife can be bought through a vending machine. One enters the steel, blade type, handle material etc and the machine combines these selected items together to give me the knife I wanted. Everything is made previously and stocked in that machine till a customer makes a selection. This is just thinking out loud.

Until then, a Para 2 in H1 sprint might be good. Might not happen but one can wish for one.

FWIW, Sal has mentioned that ZDP and serrations are not a good mix. In order for them not to be excessively fragile, the hardness would have to be lowered to the point where all ZDP's advantages would disappear.

As for me, a clipless Kopa would be my top choice at the moment. Omitting the Boye dent too would be the icing on the cake.

Well, that sucks, but I guss I'd settle for another Sage in ZDP. Maybe cf and a liner lock like the Sage 1. :)

I would love to see a G-10 or Carbon Fiber Adventura. It's still one of my favorite knives.
