No I think fluted may be asking a bit too much.
But titanium scales sure would be nice though!
My zdp ladybug is my most used knife.

Ti would be possible and it would bring down the weight compared with stainless, a tangible benefit in a keychain knife. And, if my assumption that only the blades are different is correct, they could do a Jester while they were at it. However, S90V on a Japanese Spyderco is highly unlike, given the Japanese reluctance to use non-Japanese steels.

Titanium is hypoallergenic, typically stronger, lighter, and much more expensive. It swoons nerds at the mere utterance of "Ti..." as well. ;)

CPM-S90v is a Crucible steel (USA). The blade steel would have to come from a foundry in Japan. ZDP-189 would be a nice comparable.

I made a post years ago about interest in premium versions of the Ladybug...i didn't get much interest. I'd be all over sprint steel runs for these little knives, and a Ti/ZDP version would just be badass.

The only titanium I've ever had is the bolsters on my Sage4. It shows scratches so easily. It's ok on this knife because it's a user that goes through whatever comes. I'm a little concerned abou the ti on the new Chaparral. I'm not sure I will want that one to start looking like my Sage4 is. What I'm getting at is does all ti end up looking like that? If it is more expensive do the scratches bother you? Ladybug=no clip. So it will probably be on a key ring or in the bottom of a pocket. They would be getting scratched in that type of carry.

That would be a sweeeeeet ladybug! Especially if it was anodized like warren Thomas's knives are! It would be pretty expensive though!

I've been hoping for a high end ladybug in Ti for a long time. I'd describe it as the ultimate cigar cutter. I've got the ZDP on the home keys and the H1 ladybug on my work keys. (they get wet and sweated on often.) My other ladybugs are stashed in first aid kits. At work or home my ladybugs get more use than anything else. My h1 ladybug is the only knife I'll lend out at work. I always get my keys back, so my knife never walks off.

I'd love to see spyderco go with a ti knife with H1 too. High end salt. I'm a big fan of vg-10. While it doesn't hold an edge quite as long it seems that I can get it sharper than anything else. Never had any problems with any steel spyderco uses, if they build it I will buy it.

The ZDP Manbug is definately on my 'to buy' list also. I haven't held one yet, but that might be another candidate for the ti option.

At some point, enough scratches becomes stonewashed, and i don't have a problem with stonewashed. It's all about perspective Jack ;)

Hey Ken. Would you say it's not hypoallergenic? I know it's used in surgical tools and prosthetics along with jewelry but just going on what I've heard.

As for strength it does depend as "stainless steel" is much more broad than the treatment of an Ti. Strength per ounce? Titanium almost always wins. Strength per dimensions? Not as much. It's still highly debatable in the world of exotic steels per application. In this case strength is irrelevant.

Personally I think it's hyped and pricy. Give me brass ;) .
