Pins for a Mule??
I'm planning to make some scales for the upcoming Elmax Mule and I have a some Bocote that I'm plan on using for scales but I want to get some pins, mosaic or otherwise for the handle. Given some of the great work I've seen on here, I was curious if anyone had a good source for pins?
Thanks all.
Thanks all.

It's been a few years since I ordered my mosaic pins, but I got mine from By Jake. He has very reasonable prices IMO and the two 12" pins I ordered were of exceptional quality.

hey jack,
on the knives i made, i used a disk sander to get the pins close to the right size before assembly.
meaning, about flush with the unfinished handle slabs.
i then glued everything together, and let the epoxy fully set up.
then i started shaping the scales, and slowly worked the pins down at the same time.
you do have to be careful if using power equipment so as not to overheat the pins and burn your handle material.
overheating will also weaken the epoxy.
hope this helps!
good luck with the project, and let us see your finished knife when complete.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it is wrong.
If you have any hobby shop or RC car shop around, you should find brass rods that are quite cheap and make nice pins...
