Waved Endura ?

#1

Post by JAfromMN »

I am pondering buying a new waved endura but I had a thought.

I carry my knife in my back pocket. Will the wave feature even work I don't think it will the way I draw my knife.

I don't want to waste money on one if it won't work. I'll save up extra for a military or PM2.

Thanks

J.

If you clip your knife to your back pocket the wave will work. The easiest method (described for a righty) would be to set it up as you would for conventional left-side carry and clip it to the outboard edge of your right rear pocket. Dig your thumb into the pocket behind the knife to grip, and draw into a reverse grip.

If you have other draw preferences, it won't work as well.

Stay safe,

Mike

Guess it just depends on the draw. Some people buy the waved endura for the spear point blade shape and flat saber grind. Then the grind off the wave.

I draw my knife straight up out of my pocket..

I can see how swapping the clip to left hand carry would make it work.

I'm going to swap my clip on the endura tonight for a bit to see how it feel in my hand.

Thanks for the info I'm now leaning back towards buying a Wave :)

I love the look's of it's spear point blade it's almost sexy.

Try making a temp. wave on your Endura with a cabletie and see how it works out.

That's the plan. :)

I'm going to swap my clip to lefty and ziptie it tonight to see how it work's.

If I like it I'm going to be on the hunt for a serrated Wave soon.

I should have thought of doing that to begin with but I never thought of moving the clip.

I swaped my cip to the left and add a ziptie to my Endura last nigt.

Sorry to say I don't like it. It don't fit in my pocket as well and I didn't care for drawing my knife in reverse grip.Image

I don't think I want a wave anymore.

Thanks for the help.

Good that you tried it out before you bought one. Now you can use that cash on another model.

Thanks angusW

If my wallet wasn't in the same pocket I could use one that way.

I'm going to look more into a PM2. I wish they Made a zdp189 fully serrated one :)

The wave still look's sweet. I like the spear point

If I find a deal I might pick one up to try there to good looking not to :D .

This is how I carry my knife. If it's right hand, tip up, I carry it in my left pocket, if I can reverse the clip, I set it to left hand, tip up and carry it in the right back pocket. As a lefty though, I actually prefer right hand framelocks b/c of the clip. I find on a well designed knife, I get to have the textured scale against my palm where it gets more surface contact and the clip often hugs my ring or middle finger as I grip. I think as a righty, you'll find it's not too bad having the knife clipped for left hand carry.

Also, the wave function definitely works for me carrying in this matter. That's just me though YMMV.

My main EDC is a right handed framelock and I carry it in my left pocket next to my wallet. I was very hesitant to do this at first, but It's completely unnoticeable and comfortable. Probably even more so than carrying on the opposite side, now that I'm used to it.

However, I do prefer the Para 2. Just think you may want to give the waved Endura a chance.
