I have been looking for this book for some time now. Well, i found it on amazon. For $1,999.00. Could this be a typo? Is the book really that rare? Wow!

I have the hard cover edition and I'm definitely glad that I've held on to it all these years. Very interesting read if you can find one at a good price, but as Evil D mentioned, at 2K a personal visit from Sal should be in order.

Yeps I have been looking for it quite long now and sometimes it pops up at rediculous prices for a book. It would be nice to have an updated version!!!

I just found The Spyderco Story: The New Shape of Sharp online as a free download. Of course, I did not download it and frown on such terrible, terrible things.

Heck yeah this baby has a S110V binder and the pages are super thin laser cut H1, and it's printed with pure carbon powder.

I heard that if you pay 2K for it, a tiny little clown will jump out and laugh at your *** and then run off with the book.

Nope that's just more BS spread around the forums.

Lol! I think I gave about about $50.00 for my copy, although I purchased mine sometime back in 2002. :) This particular copy may very well feature the gold-etched lettering that was popular in 2004. (Just kidding, of course!).

On a serious note, this is a great book and would be a real gem to anyone's collection.

I got really lucky when I ordered mine about a year or so ago.

Paladin Press was selling out the rest of their stock for $10.

Well with shipping it was $20....but

Great read, but I agree there needs to be an updated edition.

Here, check this out:

I can't believe the B*lls of this guy selling the book for this much. But who the heck knows? Maybe you folks that have this book have something. And this is in soft cover, so those of you that have the hard cover, I guess you can retire! :D

Maybe there are 5 golden tickets out there hidden in these books and five lucky people who find them will get to go to the Spyderco Factory where Sal takes them on a tour and they will get a Life time supply of Spydies.

I'd hate to be one of the bad people in that factory.

A new hardbound copy just surfaced on eBay starting at a penny. Search for "Spyderco Story" and it should appear as it's the only one up.

So, should one assume that because the bidding started at only $0.01, that this particular version is NOT the one that has the aforementioned pop-up Sal? :p

I love this book. It would be wonderful to see a new release with all of the latest Spydies... ;)
