OK,maybe I'm not crazy afterall :D . I just Googled-up the logo, then sent it to my brother, and called him up and asked him to take a look. I asked what he saw, other than an S,A and L. He started rambling off different answers, just like in a Rorschach test. Then I asked, "How about anything 'dirty or erotic'", and he cracked me up by IMMEDIATELY blurting out exactly what I was talking about ( I won't elaborate any further,LOL !!)

Knives are long and pointy. You know what Freud would say about all of this.

It's pretty tough to come up with a clean and unique water mark. My wife is an artist and deliberates over designs for people constantly.

While people frequently compensate with large folders I doubt any intent is etched into the blade. It's just a logo designed to cleanly tag something without offense.

I definitely see it. I always thought, "Why?"

Never saw an answer to that question.

Well I guess now that you say it I can see how you're picturing it..... and now that you have me on the subject I can see how Eric's symbol might be suggestive in the same way the universal male symbol is, but really? I mean perhaps this is stepping over the line but I recommend you might want to take a moment to leave the forums and use the internet for its *ahem* intended purpose because you clearly need to blow off some steam. If you're so focused you can see that in Sal's logo god forbid you go near another human being.

MIL-DOT wrote:So's I'm sitting here spinning my wheels on the computer, sipping a well deserved post-work beverage, and playing with my Stretch ( talking about a Spyderco here, you sick f***'s!! :D ).
Anyway, I've only had this for a few days, but everytime I look at it, the "Sal" logo jumps out at me.
I'll get right to the point. Am I the only one that sees something.....uh.....um...."suggestive", or, even "Erotic", in this logo ? Believe it or not, I even Googled "Rorschach test" a few mintes ago, assuming it was just me ( LOL,again).
I honestly wouldn't be surprised to get blasted with links to previous posts that have already discussed this,as it seems that obvious, but then again, if not, I must be the lone "pre-vert" ( Archie Bunker pronunciation, there.)
In case you don't follow me, I'm seeing the "S" as a male physique, seen from the right side, bending at the knee and hip, the "A" as the female bent at the waist, and the "L" being her arm, bent at the elbow.Again, I've no intent to be offensive, I figure we're all adults just gabbing recreationally on a discussion board, so within reason, almost anything's fair game, and I thought this was an amusing observation. Of course, YMMV !!

I see it now after your explanation and 3 or 4 closer looks. I would never have seen or thought that about the logo though. Then again, I can't see the picture within a picture in those pictures either. :)

I only drink once in a while now but may take it up again. :D The only way for someone to understand someone who is drunk is to be drunk as well. One thing, does your shrink drink? :)

Ok, this is reminding me of some of the "subliminal advertising" articles we all laughed at back in the 80s and 90s.

P.S. - and for the record, I see what MilDot is referring to - but I had to dig out my copy of the Kama Sutra to confirm it...

P.P.S. - My wife just pointed out that Sal's logo could also represent a very athletic yoga position...

It's a Phallic symbol, Freud would be proud.

Next new knife out?

:) The Freudian Slip Joint.

The blade opens quickly, but it doesn’t always come out in the way it was intended.

Did I really say that? :o I’ll get back in my box now.
