Rwb1500 is Having a Very, Very Good Day! G10 Delica and Ladybug Sale

I saw that Cutlery Shoppe had Foliage Green Ladybugs on sale for twenty bucks even, so I ordered one and forgot all about it... Until today!






I also managed to finally track down one of my grail knives. I've always wanted a G10 Delica, because I love the Delica, and I love the heft of the construction of steel and G10. I really couldn't justify what they are going for, especially this time year, but I found a great deal on a used one. It needs some work, but it's destined to be a user anyway. It seems mechanically sound, locks up tight, the internals are in excellent shape. The G10 needs a good scrubbing, and the blade needs cleaned. It also really needs to be sharpened, but I'll take care of that. I'll put up some before and after pics after I clean it up.

Got the Delica cleaned up a little, still needs serious blade work. It seems like someone tried to sharpen it and did a very bad job, scratching the blade, and trashing the edge. I'm starting to work on that.






I might go with a polished clip, or something different.

Just mirror polish the whole blade.

The scratches look like they tried to cut something very abrasive.

either that was a crap pull-thu sharpener, or they thought cutting bricks was achievable

If it's any consolation the edge is totally ruined, I don't even know if I have the means to get it back on track... But it's a good excuse to buy more sharpening gear. I may just swap the blade out, I've got other user Delicas.

So far so good though, I'd highly recommend you keep looking, it's everything I thought it would be.

I have carried a G-10 E4 almost 4 years now and have several in reserve.

It does not look all that terrible. A reprofiling on a coarse Crystolon stone or XXC diamond plate would make quick work of reestablishing an edge. You could also send it in to the factory for a spa treatment.

I'm considering sending it in for a spa date, but I'm not sure if I wanna be without it!
