You get to name the next knife in the Tenacious line.....

Postby MIL-DOT » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:40 pm

Sorry, false alarm, just another pointless,alcohol-inspired,Friday night diversionary thread, not to be taken too seriously ( but hey, who knows, huh ? )
Anyway,I never expected all these knives to materialize into what's become known as "The Tenacious Series" ( The Big T was my first Spydie).
But, as you know, we now have 4 in the series, and as I was driving and daydreaming on I-85 today, this concept occured to me:
You get a single nomination, so what would you call the next in the "tenacious" series,if given the opportunity ?
The names already taken,of course,are:
-Resilience
-Tenacious
-Persistence
- Ambitious
After considerable and careful thought, I've decided to go with................."Bodacious" !!!
Now,I'm compelled to admit, my first exposure to this word was in my youth, from David Kieth's character in "Officer and a Gentleman" where he famously made mention of "..a bodacious set of Ta-Ta's....", so that may have subconsciously influenced my choice :D . But I digress........
Seriously, though, who here could resist the new "Spyderco Bodacious" ?!!!!!
But I've clearly rambled far too long, if you're so inclined, please post your nominations.......... :spyder:

Hi Mil-Dot,

Actually, the name "Bodacious" is being saved for a large Rescue model designed for the Rodeo market. "Bodacious" was the name of a very famous bull that was impossible to ride. He has a special weave for his harness. We had a replica made of the original weave of the harness tha we plan to use as the scale texture.

As Spyderco states in their online catalogue:

"Spyderco's collection of Value Folders, are named after admirable human characteristics."

And with that I think I would have to go agree with "Voracious". Tough some may question how admirable of a characteristic this could be, it certainly sounds baddass.

Maybe use that name for some super heavy duty blade that would have a "voracious" appetite for cutting up anything in it's path :D

I don't think the sales department would go for "Voracious". I tried to use "Omnivore" for a name and sales thought it might be over-the-top aggressive. ;)

I think we've got the entire size range covered with the current family. What size are we missing?

Don't know if any exist or if this sounds strange. But what about a line of knives named after Spyders.
Black Widow, Brown Recluse, Tarantula...

Heck i was just playing along. I guess if you went with Audacious, it better be huge and fully serrated.

Allow me to derail and say, how about a Para 2 LX like the new Manix 2 LX? :D
