Two Street Beats? Really? Well, it is very nice of you to offer me one... :Dskatenut wrote:Droool, still waiting to snag a Street Bowie! :)
I do have two Street Beats, though.
Oh well, had to at least try. I'm looking at getting a 'Beat here in the not too distant future. Maybe after Christmas...
Cheers,

Rough pic...
The Street Beat is my current favorite production fixed blade, I just adore it, enough to want to buy a second one. Wish the Street Bowie was still in production... perhaps Spyderco can bring it back, this time with Street Beat style (but with a rougher texture to facilitate grip for the bigger blade) micarta handles?
Anyhoo, I'km attaching a rough picture of the one I have, taken with my iPad, so please excuse the poor quality.

Such a nice knife. Thanks for the pics.

Perrin designs some nice blades. What is the handle material of the Street Bowie? Looks kinda like rubber. Also, I could have sworn I've seen a green handled one. Either way it looks nice.

The handle is made from FRN (or something like it) with 'hard' rubber inlays. Similar to the Moran fixed blade. I like the rubber inlays, they provide extra 'stick' to the hand, but garments move freely against it (like a jacket or shirt covering the handle). And you're right about the green streetbowie, a few years back there was a sprint run of these for Fred Perrin directly IIRC, that featured a black blade, green handle and black rubber inlay in the handle.Jay_Ev wrote:Perrin designs some nice blades.
