I'm really late in reading this thread! I've been into knife collecting for going on 5 years now, but relatively new to the World Spyderco. My experience has been that knife people are some of the most kind, generous folks out there. This forum is a great place to call home!

New to the knife world and Spyderco, and late to the thread, but glad to be here. Bought my first Spyderco knife a couple months ago, and I admit... I am addicted. I’m absolutely in love with the Spyderco brand. This forum is one of the first forums I feel safe to ask a question and get a supporting answer. I’m 37 and this is the first forum I’ve actually enjoyed, and posted in. There’s always going to be a bad apple in every orchard but the good far outweighs the bad. Thank you everyone!

I am fairly new to spyderco and I also have become a huge fan (obsessed) and I dont see too many other manufacturers this involved with their customers. I believe they really do care about the product and the customers . That means more than anything to me

Hi lads, new member from Sydney Australia.
My brother who is a collector put me onto Spyderco, got a PM2 absolutely love it, but found it too big for a practical knife to throw in the pocket, just that little bit to big.
So ive been doing lots of interesting research on Spyderco and got a Para 3 too, im happy to say its an absolute dream boat, fits my hand perfect, blades just right, its a cracking knife with killer geometry and design..
The quality and feel of these knives is top shelf, both purchased from Go Commando in Sydney who has a great rep ive heard, they were fast and great to deal with..
Zero play in either of them and the blade tightness was good from the factory.
The P3 is not centered perfectly but i'll watch a few vids on how to do it, anybody know if its an easy fix?
After the PM2 and P3 i can happily say Spyderco has won me over, i like the P3 so much im looking for an all black model with the g10 to go along with my camo/satin.
I got both mine in camo and satin, love it but would also like the more subtile option of the black out model so i can pick and choose.
I hope the PM2 and P3 was a good starting point for somebody new to the brand?

Thanks for having me Sal and lads, cheers

PS, is there a 'i saw a spyderco bargain here' thread where people share good online deals they see?
Looking for a good deal on a black P3 from a reputable seller.

Thanks gents

To the OP Kristi, my apologies for putting a personal introduction in this thread a page or two back.
Im guilty of joining the thread from the last page when Id just joined the forum, ive only just seen what the thread was about now, after reading it from the front.
It was an inappropriate thread to change the topic and do an intro post, I got carried away with enthusiasm and didn't read the thread properly, my apologies.
cheers

This forum is a special place. When I was hit by a car that ran off while riding my motorcycle and put in the hospital, the outpouring of care and concern was huge. Matt even made me a fob for my knife and mailed it to me. I think Julia offered to sell me a knife I missed out on because I was out of commission. This is a great place.

Now, it is not really my place, but I think brother Bloke needs some of our special attention, right now. Okay?

I have been around many forums and unfortunately there are many fraudsters about.

Be aware of "sad" stories.

From Kristi's opening post.... "So, with all of that in mind, this is a friendly reminder that there are some people who once sheltered behind a screen and keyboard will say whatever they feel they need to just to get something (adoration, respect, honor or material items) for nothing."

Be careful, there may/will be these types active on every forum.

Hi Taz ! I just read your post and it really saddened me . I have not been active for awhile but still see the bond and passion we have for Spyderco knives and each other . Since being on the the Forum , I have given and I have received and truly feel blessed . On a side note : in 2006 friend brought back a surprise All Animals T-shirt from the Blade show . It was a XXL , I finally ( sad) grew into it ! It has Sal , Eric and your autographs . It’s still in plastic , it’s a keeper . Regards MG2
